La Braseria — Restaurant in Setenil de las Bodegas

A few weeks ago we were welcomed into the restaurant by a very friendly waiter. The interior was very nice and the menus were modern with plenty of choice, we did note a lack of atmosphere in there but as it was cold and windy out we decided to stay. We were a party of 4 and ordered 2 salads to share which came out separately, both were fine. Our main courses came out at very different times. First the chicken thigh which had very little meat on it, then the burger which was ok and lastly the two salmon fillets (when we ordered these, the waiter had to check if they had any which he found out they did). One fillet came up and it looked grey and was undercooked so we sent it back to be cooked through, the second, also grey was overcooked. Both were covered in dill and even once the first one came back they were both inedible, the taste was awful and the texture. All members of our party tried them and agreed. If I were to have a guess, they were from the bottom of the freezer and cooked in the microwave. The waiter offered to exchange them for something else so we got some calamari (which again was just ok) in place of one and nothing to replace the other. Felt compelled to write a review after our meal because it was so bad. We ordered the goat cheese and pine nut and raisin salad and the macaroni bolognese for our kid. The salad was huge and came with so much dressing it became inedible. Not to mention how acidic it was. Also, the pine nut and raisins seemed like they just came from a bag of trail mix. The bolognese was offensive. If you have it on the menu, I would expect the place to slightly know how to make it but this was a new level of low. Portion again was large but after 1 bite, even our kid had trouble stomaching this disaster. If you’ve ever eaten Spaghetti-O’s, this tasted exactly like that. Seemed to have just come from a can, and microwaved to Luke warmness. With a sauce that can be only described as ketchupy with extra sodium. The meat also had a familiar flavor; somewhat prepackaged taco meat flavor that met an even worse end after it was burnt to hell on the flattop. I’ve eaten a lot of average to below average meals in Spain, but this one was memorable because of how much food we left on the table. Un día después de comer en la Brasería, en Setenil, me dispongo a redactar esta valoración.

Los hechos fueron los siguientes: Llegamos a las 15:20 teniendo reserva a las 15:30. Tardaron 15 minutos en darnos mesas, lo cual es normal y entendible puesto que era un día de fiestas. Esta razón no penaliza: de momento, 5 estrellas.

Las bebidas las trajeron en un tiempo razonable. De momento, 5 estrellas.

Pedimos berenjena, tomate con ventresca, migas y parrillada. Nos pusieron la berenjena pasada las 16:10 y escuchamos una explosión. Todo el restaurante se quedó en silencio y preocupado al ver a un miembro del personal salir tambaleándose y tirar sin querer menaje de una estantería. Nadie lo socorrió, fue una amiga quien le preguntó si estaba bien. Se tocaba el oído y estaba temblando: no estaba bien. Tras estos acontecimientos un miembro del personal entró cargando una bombona de butano pequeña. De ahí que mi amigo en su reseña indicara "camping gas", efectivamente no era un camping gas pero como no somos expertos en gas mi amigo lo expresó lo mejor que pudo. Sí, es una brasería y las carnes son a la brasa, pero en un restaurante tendrán otras necesidades que requieran de una bombona de butano, y si no es así, me remito a los hechos: un miembro del personal pasó con una bombona pequeña de gas. El señor que salió afectado por la explosión se iría poco después tras sacar otra compañera dinero de la caja y dárselos en mano. No voy a sacar conclusiones sobre lo que vimos pero bajo 2 estrellas por la mala gestión del incidente. 3 estrellas.

Las migas llegaron después que la berenjena, estaban ricas. Lo mejor el tomate, es una pena que, con lo rico que estaba, llegara pasadas las 16:30. Se puede entender debido el incidente del gas. No bajaré estrellas por esto.

Puesto que el personal no dio explicaciones ni tranquilizó al personal, otro amigo de nuestra mesa preguntó por el suceso y por el estado del trabajador afectado. La simpática camarera nos dijo "ha sido más lo que ha liado él que lo que ha pasado". Ante la falta de empatía del personal con sus propios compañeros y la mala imagen que esto da, bajo otra estrella: 2 estrellas.

La parrillada llegó pasadas las 17:00... Vale, está todo relacionado y estaba rica. Así que no bajo puntuación por la tardanza excesiva.

Ni nos ofrecieron café ni postre, ni fueron correctos con el trato a la hora del pago con mi amiga. No tenían cambio y no fue este hecho sino las formas de expresarlo. Bajo otra estrella: 1 estrella.

En conclusión: la Brasería es un restaurante excelente en producto pero con una pésima gestión y un responsable altivo y prepotente que no es capaz de aceptar una crítica. Sepa usted que los clientes que pierde se van por su actitud y su gestión, no por su producto. Debería entender que una persona que va a su restaurante no solo quiere comer bien, quiere que le...
