We were a group of 11 people with young kids. We had an hour to spend around 3:30 PM before we board the bus back to Seville at 4:30 PM so we decided to try this place. We talked to the waitress and we asked for the outdoor seating. She asked us to seat outside. When we were seating outside, another young waitress came & told us very rudely that we can only get 2 tables if we were going to order drinks. We told her that 11 of us can’t fit on 2 small square tables but she said that “I am not the boss and that’s the rule”. Then she said that for drinks or coffee only, we can’t get more than 2 tables but if we order food, then we can get more. So we told her that we will order food also. Can we then get 3 tables? Then she started asking us rudely, “are you going to order more food or little food”? So then we asked, can you please define what is more food and little food. At this point, she became defensive & started telling us that she is not the boss so we asked her to send her manager so we can talk to her. She went in, brought the menus out and threw them on the table.
The manager then came out and told us “I am sorry. The only thing is that we are a restaurant and not a cafeteria and I am sorry for answering you incorrectly.” We told her that we were more than happy to order food but we didn’t appreciate the way the waitress was talking rudely from beginning. And how can she ask us more food or little food. It is our choice to order whatever we want if it’s listed on the menu. How can the restaurant dictate that because they are a restaurant and not cafeteria, we can’t order coffee even if it’s listed on the menu.
At this point, we had already wasted 15 minutes & with the rude behavior of the waitress, our group’s mood was already ruined so we decided not to order anything & walk away from there & go back to bus.
We really wanted to spend some quality time in this quaint little town Setenil de las Bodegas but we had a really bad experience. I would recommend that the staff should be trained to speak properly to their customers and not behave rudely for no reason.
We then told our guide and he said that this is not the first time he had heard this complaint. He told us that they want you to order food but they don’t understand that you already had lunch before you came here. This is the third time he heard this complaint and he is not going to recommend any restaurant in this town anymore to...
Read moreA total mess. Orange fresh in the country were oranges are growing on all streets is an orange juice in a bottle so no fresh. Coffee? No. No coffee. They have a bathroom where all the turists guides and so on are coming to use it. We had to wait to go to the bathroom even if we were the only one paying something on the restaurants. They don’t speak English. We asked for 3 basic things out of few they have in total and it took them a lifetime to cook some patatas bravas and some croquettes and a salad. Aprox one hour. The toilet is horrible (since thousands of people use it). Otherwise the food was ok and the place inside is nice but, please don’t go. Maybe just to...
