I wanted to come here for 5 years and finally did on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was full of happy families and couples enjoying a delightful dinner. I do love menu del dia, however it was off the menu or Carta. I was worried at first and didn't know if we should have a starter then a main dish then dessert, but the lovely wait staff suggested pan y tomato which is nice sized toasted fresh bread with garlic and tomato on it for around 3 euros and they brought a large bowl of olives, and we ordered a coke and water as I was driving. I ordered what turned out to be a huge portion of pan fried Hake with vegetables and a potato, and my partner ordered the chicken and patas fritas or french fries. My meal was mid 20s and the chicken was huge and only 14 euros. The food was excellent quality and the service was exceptional. The entire meal including drinks was 50 euros for 2. Not a bad price for a lovely Sunday dinner. Then they brought out a decanter of vermouth and homemade cookies/snaps. Very much recommended and probably best to make reservations, but we did get in...
Read moreAuthentic Catalonia food with abundance. We stumbled onto this restaurant as we were exploring Sitges. This is a local restaurant with lots of local Catalonians visiting this place for their meals and celebrations. The place doesn't look big until you go inside. Bustling with local people enjoying their food. We tried the house menu for €20 per person and that comes with bread, glass of beer, wine or water, entrees, main meal and desert. Food is plentiful so you are really full by the time you finish your mains. I had the local steamed muscles which were delicious. My choice for mains wasn't the best, should have asked for their recommendations as I had chicken schnitzel with chips, not very Catalonian at all but it was plentiful and my wife had the local fish which was grilled sardines. Desert was a choice of ice cream or creme Broulee. I had the creme Broulee which came out the size of a 6 inch bowl. Needless to say, I didn't finish it. Too much food for the...
Read moreWe went into this restaurant for dinner, on a Friday evening without reservation, and we were seated outside. We ordered drinks and gazpacho as an appetizer. For the main we ordered the salmon with vegetables and the ribeye veal that came with potatoes and allioli. I found the appetizer pretty good, but we found the main courses average at best, without having a lot of taste. We also found that the ingredients used could have been of higher quality here. For desserts, we ordered ice cream and profiteroles. The desserts were not very tasty either, especially the profiteroles which tasted like they were made with low quality canned whipped cream only. Service was friendly and nice to us, and with both locals and tourists alike. The restaurant is located in a traditional farmhouse setting, close to Sitges, and has rustic atmosphere to it, but we found some areas inside smelled a bit old or odd. Overall, not sure if we would return here,...
