You know.. Food can take a bad trip and make it good. It can take a good trip and make it awesome. Or bad food can make a good trip bad. But when it comes to La Oliva... The trip to Cala Bona was nice enough. The hotel.. Could have been better. But what really made Cala Bona stick in my memory.. La Oliva. Richard, Craig and the rest of the crew there. AND the FOOD. Oh the food... We blew most of out vacation budget at La Oliva on FOOD, oh glorious food. We ate as much as possible there, lunch and dinner. Tried to get through the menu, but we didn't make it. Some things demanded to be eaten more than once.

So if you pla to go to Cala Bona... La Oliva is the best place to get your meal. If you just plan to go to Mallorca.. Rent a car and drive to Cala Bona - JUST to...

My wife and I love tapas and after some searching on line decided to give Oliva a try, we weren't disappointed. We selected 4 tapas from the menu, Patata Bravas, Meatballs, Chicken Croquettes and 3 king prawns. The portions were big, hot and everything tasted great. We also had some olives, bread and alioli and some drinks. Excellent value and very tasty authentic food. The restaurants of Cala Bona are quiet at this time of the year so it's hard to rate the atmosphere, but the staff were very friendly and attentive. Good location overlooking the harbour. Lovely meal in nice setting with great service. My wife and I visited this restaurant last night and the food is the best we have had so far this holiday. My wife had the arancini (battered rice balls) with a sweet chilli jam dip and I had the chicken skewers with rice chips and salad. The chicken was flavoursome and nicely cooked and the chips were amazing just like your gran used to cook! Fresh not frozen! It was hard stopping my wife from eating them all!
