If I could give a 0 star I would. Pushy. Aggressive and lier promising all sorts and pressuring young people in to the dodgy underground bar. Not To be confused with other Irish bar of the same name in the old town. When we helped a young couple to leave we were challenge by the owner who became aggressive, luckily we are old and wise enough for it not let it intimidate us, but young uns would feel differently.
Update: No idea what the owner below is going on about we are not revisit. We treat people how they treat us. Yes we went for drinks at Africa bar, (all paid for just for clarity and also non alcoholic as we don’t drink lol) and not sure what that has to do with anything, however, we were pretty much pushed into going into this bar as were the young couple that followed us! The young couple were afraid and felt pressurised. We simply told them that they didn’t have to stay if they didn’t want to when they asked us if they “had” to stay. No management should ever make customers feel pressurised and then verbally attack the customer when they decide they don’t want to stay. I was very polite to the staff on exit until the name calling started. At which point we walked away. There are plenty of real Irish bars out there, where you feel welcome. Trust the negative reviews...
Read moreBeen here so much whilst on holiday, great place for a laugh with friends. Not you're typical irish pub or anything exactly but it's such a lovely feel most nights. Like everywhere, sometimes it has its problems (fights etc) but it's always dealt with so well by the lovely staff. Me and my friend have had a great time here, the live music and drag shows are brilliant! Been in almost every night for karaoke until all hours a great place for younger people to find friends on holiday, the bar staff are the sweetest and always keeping an eye on everyone/checking up on people who are a little more drunk than perhaps is safe for them. Drinks are cheap- the cocktails during happy hour come as two. If you order 1 happy hour, 2 drinks come. Be careful when ordering as on our first night there we ordered TWO of the same cocktails so 4 drinks came to the table. I think a few people have done this, a few reviews complain about this but it is an honest mistake really. We haven't eaten here properly but the food always looked nice, my friend got chips and loved them but I think she would have eaten sand from over the road and thought it was heaven at...
Read moreHad a nice time the other night, returning for drag show soon so will update!! We ordered two cocktails and four where brought to the table which is apparently a pretty common thing. Charged 20 euro for them, when we had asked for 4 but 🤷♀️ saved going up again I suppose. Karaoke was on and besides the terrible singing of me and my friend it was a great time lol. Good atmosphere, friendly people, there was a few families in there a little earlier in the evening. Not your typical irish pub really, but still good craic. Pool table and a few other things in room off to one side by toilets which is good. Was a little pushy about getting me and my friend to go in, as two young girls on our own we wernt too sure about it but glad we did in the end. We went back the next night and we're remembered for our bad singing and dancing but it was a pleasant conversation with some staff and jokes passed by...
