We arrived at this restaurant at 7:15PM for our dinner and when we arrived the restaurant was fairly quiet. It took 5 minutes for the young girl to come to us to give us menus and drinks - that was great. That was all that was great to be honest. After ordering our drinks and food eventually at 7:40PM, we didn’t get the drinks (2 cokes) for 25 yes 25 MINUTES! and we didn’t get the starter brought to the table for 55 minutes (just chicken wings) yet others around us who arrived after us were getting their food sooner than us. That was that. After our starters, it took 40 minutes for the mains to come out. During this time, we had to order more drinks as we drank ours long before we got our mains. We ordered a coke and a squash. After 20 minutes, the lady came back and told us there was no squash. I don’t understand how it can take 20 minutes to find out there’s no squash. It was abysmal service if I’m honest. The food eventually came out after 40 minutes past our starters, and it was not good. The only good thing was the chilli. The halloumi fries were totally uncooked and almost tough to chew through, the salt and pepper chips just soaked in an oil. The burger, well I don’t like it say it but was almost inedible. I don’t know what went wrong but the service and food was so so poor. The waiters/waitresses I don’t know seemed inexperienced which I can understand, but the only reason we didn’t complain in the restaurant was due to being around other customers and having respect for those who hadn’t yet eaten their meal. We won’t be returning and are really disappointed as from the outside the restaurant looks neat. We also were not fans of loud live music while we eventually eat. Way to loud and I see it is a common issue here on the TripAdvisors reviews. A massive let down for us. €53 down really and have had much better meals on the same strip for the same...
Read moreVisited last night, very busy but managed to get a table without booking( would recommend booking) place had retro background music playing and looked great. All the decor was from the 70's, we spend ages pointing out things to each other and looking at the walls. Staff very friendly and helpful. We placed our order for drinks and food, and as our drinks hadn't arrived in about 5 minutes, they went to check why, not that we were in a rush, anyway. Drinks arrived and were a very good size😁. Our starters or nachos and baked halloumi arrived, both you could tell had been cooked correctly and not just stuck in a microwave. Cheese on nachos nicely melted and some crispy chips. Halloumi was delicious😋. We both picked steaks for our mains, and were massive! Easily 20oz each with nice home made chips,Onions and mushrooms. I had the peppercorn sauce and the wife the mushroom one, both were really good. Onto round 2 of drinks 🤪 The live music was about to start and Nolita the owner was performing. And can she sing, she performed a good mix of tunes old and new, and accepted requests all night. Everyone was having a great sing along. We were asked if we wanted to see dessert menu, we were both quite full from mains, but upon seeing menu we both went for the homemade rhubarb and apple crumble, mine with custard, Emma's with ice cream. It was lovely, just like grandma use to make. They have a good choice on the menu, special offers all the time. And entertainment on nighty. Would highly recommend the good old days and will be one of our regular eateries...
Read moreWe are in Lanz for 2 months but my wife had to return to the UK for a family emergency so I was here alone for 10 days. Had pizza the first 2 nights and then remembered we had both had a burger here before and it was unbelievable. You can't get a good burger in a decent pub in UK for less than £16.95 - and besides all of the GOD burgers making a UK burger look like a finger snack. they are an absolute steal at around E10 and pukka home made!! We travel alot so I have been reviewing restaurants for years and I have to say all round as in HOME made; very generous portions; value for money; super excellent service and the great nostalgic decor - this is right up there with the best. I would like to say that I could review 6 different main dishes but I have tbh that when I got to the fillet steak (a good 400g!!) it was so bloomin good and an absolute bargain at E18.98 that I thought I better order it the next night too, just in case the boss noticed and changed either size/price!! - fortunately she hadn't!! If I was looking for a cost effective way to eat out WELL every night whilst on holiday (meaning NO cooking in the apartment) the GOOD OLD DAYS would definitely be my destination of choice. Service is really good too - take your order; bring meal; ask you how it is; take your plate away and you get the bill within 5 mins of asking - just another reason to go to and enjoy the...
