Our party of 4 were looking forward to our evening meal here at trufarella so it pains me to leave a negative review it is something I try to avoid but the evening was a disaster from start to finish the restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff for the most part are friendly we ordered 2 garlic prawn starters garlic mushroom starter and garlic cheese bread. The prawns were not deveined, and the black string intestine was a real put off. The other 2 starters were ok. As I was finishing my starter the plate was whipped away from me and the other 2 starter plates as well the other garlic prawn dish was still being eaten when our main dishes arrived the waiter then stood beside the person finishing their prawn dish with their main dish in his hand she gave up and let him take it and leave her main. It was chaotic service at best as all mains were lukewarm I can only assume someone made a mistake and cooked our mains at same time as our starters thus they were left going cold. I had ribs which were all bone and very little meat which had to be cut off the bone so not tender at all and only 3 of them. My wife had tagliatelle which when lukewarm is just a gloopy mess ditto for Catherine with her risotto the only one to eat their meal was joe who got pork tenderline which he was happy with the rest of us left half our dishes uneaten. It is a sad indictment when the highlight of my evening was the warm crusty bread roll served with the prawns. Other diners seemed more fortunate but as for me I would never eat there again. You are spoiled for choice with plenty of good restaurants around the immediate area be kind to yourself choose any...
Read moreGo here if you want undercooked chicken, a dining experience with cockroaches, and inattentive staff.
Whilst waiting for our food we spotted a cockroach walking on a woman’s chair. I know this cannot be helped in the climate of Lanzarote. However, once the waiter (who seemed to be the boss of the place) was alerted, he laughed it off saying that the women had too much to drink and that there was “no more wine for her”. I think in this moment he much rather cared about covering it up for other diners, by letting it scurry off to the next table.
Secondly, one of the guests I was with was served undercooked chicken. He did not notice this until he had already ate quite a-bit of the mixed meat skewer. We once again informed the same waiter where he laughed it off saying that he’d go and put the mostly eaten pink chicken back on the grill. This honestly shocked us, the lack of concern was beyond our believe. A cockroach was one thing, but laughing off a situation which could potentially make a customer seriously ill was not on one bit.
The front of house waitress was having more fun dancing with the singer in goofy burger next door than making sure the restaurant was being run correctly. The music next door I must add, was too loud for a restaurant. I genuinely couldn’t talk to the person next to me without shouting.
Once we had gotten the bill (where we were charged for the uncooked chicken), items were wrong on the bill, adding extra drinks onto the overall tab.
Overall I would 100% NOT recommend this restaurant. After being to Puerto Del Carmen many times over the years, this has to be the worse...
Read moreBeen here twice now……ticks a lot of boxes…..clean, well presented and plenty of attentive staff. Sooo wanted to give a five star rating but it unfortunately can’t be done. As a lone female diner, I felt really comfortable here and being, what I believe, is a slightly more upmarket venue, it tends to attract a slightly more upmarket clientele which is nice…..no TOKs here (top off knobs)…..why do men, often, but not always, that are fat and pot bellied, think that walking about with their tops off is in any way acceptable? Anyways, all good and not the cheapest venue but the food is not quite hitting the mark for me. The penne Arrabbiata was good but sauce not quite as reduced as it should have been to really give that burst of flavoursome sauce a meat free and pretty simple sauce needs to carry itself. I also had the meat lasagne (on another visit) but again lacked a depth of flavour needed for this classic dish and was slightly burnt on the bottom. The salmon tartar was ok but came without lemon…? They were very quick to bring once I requested it but that’s like fish and chips with salt but no vinegar…!? We’re in Spain and the free pouring of spirits in drinks is a given and a must….however one of their waiters, who I unfortunately had pour my drinks, was decidedly skimpy on the pouring…..he must save them a fortune on their liquor bill!
Overall a 3.5 from me……I wouldn’t kick and scream if I was to go there again but not sure that for next couple of weeks I’m here I’d choose...
