A Delightful Italian Experience in Costa Teguise

We had a fantastic dining experience at Cantinetta Trattoria! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their friendly and attentive service.

The food was simply delicious. We started with a beautiful buffalo mozzarella salad with rocket and cherry tomatoes – fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to begin our meal. For the main courses, my wife had the homemade tagliatelle with green asparagus and a superb sauce, while I enjoyed a perfectly cooked ossenhaas with mushrooms. Both dishes were full of rich, authentic flavors. To finish, we had the homemade tiramisu, which was an absolute treat – light, creamy, and full of that classic Italian taste.

There was a brief moment at the beginning when football was on, but after about twenty minutes, nice background music was turned on, creating a lovely atmosphere. And while drinking my Peroni from a wine glass was a bit unexpected, it wasn’t a bad experience at all!

An extremely nice Italian restaurant, with some high class authentic Italian food, & a great variety of wines (both Italian & Spanish) to go with it. A great place for romantic meals. Their most expensive bottle of wine cost €1360! Impressive, but probably not what the average traveller would purchase, so maybe steer clear of the immense wine list, unless it's what you go for, or perhaps just stick to the 1/3 glass of wine costing a mere €4.50. As to the food itself: it was cooked to perfection, tasted amazing, & well worth the price. It's certainly not a restaurant to bypass on account of the pricey wines. Das Restaurant liegt etwas abseits der üblichen Touristenzentren von Costa Teguise, ist aber problemlos zu Fuß erreichbar und den Spaziergang auf jeden Fall wert. Parkplätze am Rande der Straße vor dem Gebäude sind aber eigentlich auch immer frei. Man kann hier entweder auf der Terrasse oder auch drinnen sitzen, wobei der Eigentümer uns die freie Wahl ließ. Innen gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, den Raum zu klimatisieren, aber das ist normalerweise nicht erforderlich. Das Ambiente innen wird bestimmt durch die sehr schöne Dekoration der Wände, die im Wesentlichen aus alten Weinflaschen, Weinkisten und grünen Rankpflanzen besteht. Die Tische sind mit weißen Tischdecken belegt und werden nach der Bestellung vom sehr aufmerksamen Service je nach Art und Anzahl der Gänge eingedeckt. In der Karte steht eine kleine aber feine Auswahl von Fisch-, Fleisch- und Nudelgerichten, sowie Salaten, wobei der Chef selbst oft weitere Vorschläge auf Basis der von ihm gerade frisch eingekauften Waren unterbreitet oder auch Sonderwünsche annimmt. Interessant zu wissen ist in diesem Zusammenhang, dass der Inhaber neben Spanisch auch Deutsch und Englisch fließend spricht. Das Essen ist immer sehr gut zubereitet und geschmacklich wie auch qualitativ hochwertig. Zur ebenfalls recht ausführlichen Weinkarte kann ich leider nichts sagen, weil ich mich damit nicht auskenne.
