DIVINE INDIA — Restaurant in Teguise

We walked past this amazing spot one day and we spoke with the chef Aman who advised that they can definitely make Vegan Soya Meat curries and he would be happy to prepare whatever we wanted to accommodate our vegan dietary requirements.

We visited this restaurant on our last day of the trip and we ordered 1X Soya Meat Karahi (Vegan) and 1X Soya Meat Bhuna (Vegan) as well as 1 Vegan Tarka Daal - and EACH dish was absolutely delicious and tasteful. Chef Aman personally came out to note our requirements when we ordered and he then made some of the tastiest Indian food we have had anywhere.

I actually feel bad leaving a 3 star review because the staff were fantastic, the restaurant was clean and modern, and the option choices on the menu were great.

However, I think we are just spoilt for flavour when we have Indian food back home. We ordered everything we usually would have, and while the food wasn’t horrible and it looked great, it just didn’t taste anything like what we have back home. On a blind taste test I wouldn’t have guessed what any of the dishes were. People have warned me before that you can go to any country in the world and Indian food will never be as good as back home. Booked a table for this place as read so many great reviews. Food is great and very tasty, the restaurant itself is also lovely and decorated well. Would of given 5 stars however the service was very very poor, the staff you can tell were working very hard however kept accepting walk ins and could therefore not keep up with the service- had to wait ages for food, no apology and felt completely rushed to eat and pay. Other tables around us were also waiting to be served and made the whole atmosphere very awkward - they should not be accepting more people if there is not enough staff to serve people properly.
