The Shamrock Irish Bar — Restaurant in Teguise

First meal out in Costa Teguise and was disappointed with attitude of staff towards simple requests. Asked for a non alcoholic cocktail was offered a chocolate milkshake as this was extent of imagination (a wide variety of options have been available in every other establishment I’ve visited) Attitude towards gluten free options made it apparent it was too much trouble with the remark gluten free is difficult. At this point I should have left as this should have been sign of what was to come. I ordered a chilli as was informed this could be done gluten free but I would absolutely not recommend this option as without doubt I was glutened and ended up extremely unwell. I was left feeling an inconvenience by staff simply due to a non alcoholic drink and gluten free option something which is not in my control due to medical needs unlike their attitude The parting shot of the ice isn’t tap water you know was unnecessary, my drink was left unpoured as I was already unwell within the restaurant. What a disappointment. We used to love this place but now its awful. We sat down for breakfast at 11:30am. The table was filthy and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. We were asked if we wanted breakfast and then warned it might be a 45 min wait. 10 minutes later they took our drinks order, a fruit juice and a tea. The fruit juice was fine, but the tea was half a cup of hot water with a teabag in it, just one sachet of sugar, a teaspoon and an apology for their not having any teapots left. No saucer and no biscuit. I had to leave the soggy teabag on the now freshly wiped table.

25 minutes later they tell us they are sorry but they are no longer serving breakfasts! They even charged us €4.50 for the complete displeasure of wasting over 40 minutes of our holiday with them.

An amazing place with a great atmosphere. I especially remember one of the staff members called Lucy. We were greeted by her at the front of the building where she lead us into the bar. Lucy took and made our drinks order which she brought over to our table, she then took our food order when we were ready (not rushing us at all). As well as your usual variety of drinks, they had a great cocktail menu (which we managed to sample a few between us 5*). They also had a great selection on there food menu which we ordered a couple of the chicken dishes. We didn’t have to wait long, everything was freshly cooked, good portion sizes, well presented and tasty fantastic.
