Some good friends reccommended this restaurant in Lanzarote, and since we love Indian food and culture we were eager to try it. I don´t like to check customers reviews in advance, specially when a friend is putting it in a good word. But i do when i am about to write a review on my own, so I have checked both good and bad. I coincide mostly with the good ones, and I see no reason for the bad ones. I hate the tendency of some people to name "curry" to everything that is on the menu, ignoring the outstanding nuances of color and taste of the Indian Cuisine. And this restaurant is a perfect example of the above. I have tried all the dishes ordered by our party, and I couldn´t decide which one is better, from a creamy and sweet Korma to a Madras with some serious heat, all of them deep in flavor and aroma. Even the dessert was extraordinary. Probably it was the best Pista Kulfi I eat in years! I am an advocate of what is called "A full experience" when it comes to enjoy a meal in a Restaurant, which includes the location, the deco, the food, of course and the hospitality and friendliness. You can tick all the boxes at that the "Masala Lounge". You can bet that we...
Read moreExcellent service and ambience of the restaurant! Parking can be a bit tough to find! The food however was a bit of a let down. Of course take what I'm saying with a pinch of salt (lol!), because my perspective is from the point of view as an Indian. The dishes have been really toned down for the European palate, and for me largely lacked the impact full flavour of real indian cuisine. The entrées were actually pretty good, but the mains were a bit of a let down. Also, level of spice (heat on the tongue) is not the only thing in Indian cuisine, there is variety of flavor profiles, aromas as well which is why I rated it 3/5 stars. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't bad, but very far from real Indian cuisine. I guess the service was so exceptional that I expected the food to be equally good. But that...
Read moreI'm from Bangladesh, my wife is from India, we both cook a mean curry and tend to be snobs about curry houses beyond UK. I'm afraid we are that insufferable couple who turn their noses up and say "you went to Spain and ordered a curry?!" that said, the tapas places here are below par, most places serve English staple food and after a few days here we fancied a curry, but the shops don't sell any fresh meat let alone the necessary spices to make it in our apartment so we reluctantly tried this out. OMG the food is amazing. The lamb nilghiri is famously a difficult dish to make but it was banging! The chicken utterly succulent, paneer and potatoes just the right level of tender and the flavours just burst out of everything. Great parathas too. Lovely staff too. Absolutely...
