The most important thing about this review is to tell people that the food was very poor. We ordered food to take back to the apartment as one of our kids had taken ill and we couldn't go out to eat. Upon being ushered in by the friendly street promotions guy, I was subjected to the hard sell on starters and beers to take with me, along with the main meals I had ordered. I politely declined and was offered a complimentary beer while I waited at the bar for my food. Again I declined, but after being offered 3 more times, I accepted. The street promoter seemed surprised when I said I would take a small Alhambra. I wondered why he seemed to be trying to "upsell" me to a large Cobra, with it being complimentary and on the house, but I'm sure now I was just being naive. (I'm a 49 yo man.) I managed two slurps of the beer, but left it as it was completed flat and devoid of anything resembling fizz. I turned down the offered replacement as it was on the house and I didn't particularly want it in the first place. The food duly arrived and we set about a game of "Guess the Price". The friendly street promoter with the teardrop tattoo operated the till and came to a grand total of €44 odds for two mains, two rice and a nan. I thought it should be just shy of €30 myself, and so we began the process of disproving the total asked for. Eventually, after a few failed attempts to operate the till and a failure to switch on the backup calculator, I used my phone's calculator to type in his numbers. We got near enough the price I thought it should be, but there was an extra €2.90 on the bill which was explained to me as a local sales tax. I wasn't sure, but paid the bill and got out of there, as I was losing the will to live at this point. I later realised this was probably "beer tax" for the complimentary beer. Anyway, onto the food............ My wife's Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh had generic bottled Indian cooking sauce flavour and my own Chicken Tikka Madras was like thickened chicken stock with green chilli sauce for heat/flavour, with small pieces of (non-tikka) chicken in it. It was spicy, but a chore to eat. The upshot is, I definitely will not eat here again, because the food was bad and I think I was conned. Although that's just my personal opinion. Make your own mind up and check your...

We had the incredible pleasure of dining at an exceptional Indian restaurant, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. This hidden gem, a lovely family-run establishment, completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted with smiles, making us feel like part of the family.
The ambiance of the restaurant was both cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for an enjoyable meal. The menu was extensive, offering a wide range of options, and the Owner was more than happy to help us navigate through the choices.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Every dish was a burst of flavor, and the spices were perfectly balanced, showcasing the true essence of Indian cuisine. We couldn't help but savor every mouthful. From the fragrant medium spiced Chicken Tikka to the heavenly lamb shashlik, every dish was a delight.
What truly sets this restaurant apart is the passion and dedication of the family that runs it. Their commitment to delivering exceptional food and top-notch service is evident in every aspect of our dining experience. It's not just a meal; it's an authentic journey through Indian flavors.
If you're a fan of Indian cuisine I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It's a culinary haven, a true hidden gem, and food you won't want to miss. My taste buds are still singing praises for this delightful family-run...
Read moreI am at a loss regarding so many 5 star reviews Based on these, we decided to try Spicy affair on our first night in Costa Tegusie. The restaurant is more like a cafe with plastic tables and chairs. It didn't feel or look particularly clean. Service was fine and the owner seemed like a decent guy. The food was awful. I had chicken dhansak, which was probably the worst I can ever remember having. My wife likes to try a selection of starters, rather than a main mean. The Prawn puree looked awful but she said it tasted OK. The kebab though was totally tasteless. The lamb samosa was inedible. The pastry was rock hard and the small filling totally dried out. It looked like it had been re-heated and left. The poppadoms were stale. I noticed these were being stored in a larger tupperware box, so goodness knows when they were originally cooked. We couldn't wait to leave. I did pay and didn't complain at the time, because it just didn't seem worth it. So there is no doubt, we went early evening, we were sober and really hungry. This was just a disaster I hate leaving poor reviews but there is something wrong here. Unless it was just...
