We just wanted to get some food after an extensive hiking tour and stumbled upon this jewel of a restaurant. The memory will stick with us for a while, since this was an absolute highlight of our stay on Gran Canaria. Every moment at this place makes it clear that the owner truly loves his restaurant as well as the food he serves. Canarian dishes are prepared with local ingredients and much attention to detail, thus being special without being pretentious. An excellent example of this is the mojo, to which the chef has put his own little spin, making it the best that I have ever tasted anywhere on the Canaries. If you like beer make sure to ask for a recommendation, since they have a very nice selection of Spanish craft beers in stock. To make a long story short: if you come to or through Tejeda, make sure to visit this place, even if it is just for a coffee and one of the beautiful deserts...

When I asked the waiter for more, he kindly brought some, but they weren’t cooked through at all and, again, completely unsalted 😔
The first star goes to the local wine, which I hadn’t originally planned to order, but it turned out to be the best part of this experience. The second star because they didn’t charge me for the extra fries ( which I consider a recognition of their mistake) .
I’m not sure what’s behind the hype of this place, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Even considering the fact that I was really-really hungry after walking 28 kilometers on the Camino de Santiago...
Read moreA wonderful place for a tasty break while visiting Tejeda. We felt so welcomed from the moment we stepped in, even our pup got a drink to fully enjoy the visit Food was fresh and tasty, you could tell the owner really puts his heart into his restaurant and service. We especially enjoyed the grilled cheese, Canary potatoes and the gofio dessert. Although I don’t have kids I noticed the bathroom having a fully equipped baby changing stations, even baby powder was there! And you can truly feel this level of thoughtfulness throughout the whole...
