A Very nice venue that has recently been renovated and reopened a week or so ago. However, this restaurant is very overpriced for very underwhelming food apart from the 4 French oysters @ €20 I had as my starter. My husband’s Tomato salad starter was a good sized portion that consisted of sliced ‘run of the mill tomatoes’, with a few slices of onion and some tiny black olives that cost €14. My two family guests, our daughter and our 12 year old granddaughter did not have a starter . As a Main course both my husband and I chose one of the the ‘fish of the day’ options. We decided on the Grouper. The cutlets were a good size portion but slightly overcooked rendering the fish not particularly tender. The dishes accompanying sauce consisted of a limited portion of sliced potato, there was no green vegetables added to this rather bland looking dish. But as mentioned the sauce was good. This dish for 2 persons was €54. My daughter ordered chicken with garlic. This was a very disappointing presentation consisting of roast chopped up chicken thigh meat with very hard roasted potatoes swimming in an olive oil sauce with a few whole roasted garlic cloves and fresh thyme leaves, at €18 a very ordinary dish. Last of all my granddaughter ordered Jamon croquettes that consisted 2 ham croquettes with a small green salad €15. To accompany Our meals, we had a bottle of White wine and red wine and 4 bottles of water. We did not order bread, deserts or coffee . …. The final bill just came to just under €175 . There was no ‘on the house extras, such as a after dinner tiple etc….. Over all our ‘Father’s Day’ celebration lunch was a disappointing experience. ….. However, Last but not least, we must acknowledge our young waiting staff. They were delightful, very attentive and the service was excellent. And As true well mannered Brits, we left the standard 10% tip for their fine service. Unfortunately, will not be returning to this restaurant again. I say unfortunately because we live a short walking distance to this very pleasant...
Read moreWe recently came for two meals whilst on vacation.
If you don't read the rest of this review then just read this line; Ca Pepe is the best restaurant in all of Moraria for both service, atmosphere and food.
It's a true gem and hidden away from the main town but well worth the visit. The staff are incredibly friendly, the menu is large enough to give variety but small enough to be concise and well tended. The food is incredible with small plates and numerous tasters throughout.
The steak, specials, fish and paella are all fantastic and the owner is a genuine and nice person who's built something excellent there. He was very kind and even hosted us as they opened in the afternoon as we waited for a taxi.
To top it all off they have the most vibey playlist everytime I go! Please share it.
Visit Ca Pepe next time you are in town and you won't be...
Read moreWe have just had the most amazing meal at Ca Pepe . The food was incredible, service amazing and good wine too. We went to Ca Pepe the week they opened as we live almost opposite and to say we were disappointed was an understatement ……until today we haven’t returned. However, following reading recent Facebook reviews, today we thought we would try it again. (Thank you everyone for your feedback) . We had Garlic Prawns to share, the best I have ever tasted! Our main courses were Iberico Pork and Shoulder of Lamb and again amazing flavour and texture as the meat was so tender. Followed by green pineapple with coconut ice cream which was incredible . We enjoyed a fabulous bottle of Chardonnay . Overall a delicious meal. We will...
