This place gets busy and there's certainly a reason why. The food is sublime, service outstanding and the atmosphere an absolute bubble of joy.
We ordered several different dishes to share, my favourite being the "gambas a la santa". I've never tasted anything like it. The prawns were the softest I've ever tried and just melted in your mouth. Such a delight.
The mojos were fricken awesome! In particular, the verde was a vampire's nightmare, packed with a garlic punch!
The pescado a la plancha was seriously good. It was corvina, a white and meaty fish that was grilled really well and seasoned with oil, salt and lemon.
Amongst this we enjoyed some boquerones with vinegar and garlic, patatas arrugadas and grilled cheese.
All these dishes were given to us as tapas style, served when ready. The timing in-between dishes wasn't too long nor too little and the order was perfect; starting with fiery mojos and acidic boquerones and finishing with salty, soft cheese.
It was a real pleasure to enjoy these typical dishes found in Lanzarote but in a Spanish tapas style, which isn't usually the case here.
This is a professional establishment, filled with proud waiters and chefs, providing attentive service whilst delivering mouthwateringly great and simple food.
I'm coming back here again when in La santa and bringing...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A taste of Lanzarote you won’t forget Bar El Quemao is the kind of place that sneaks into your heart and stays there. Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool, it’s a must-stop in La Santa. The staff treat you like family, and the food? Next level. I had the Canary potatoes with homemade mojo sauce — hands down the best mojo I’ve tasted anywhere in the Canaries. The sizzling scallops were perfectly seared and bursting with flavor. The paella was rich, comforting, and packed with fresh ingredients. The tapas menu? Over 20 options, each one a little masterpiece. And the sandwiches — wow. Fresh sub-style, loaded with flavor, and the fish sandwich? Absolutely to die for. Whether you're here for a casual coffee or a full-on feast, sampling the bar is non-negotiable. This spot is pure...
Read moreWonderful restaurant down on the seafront in La Santa. Very unpretentious but the food was fresh and delicious. We were lucky to be accommodated without a booking because it was a public holiday and this is a very popular eatery with locals and visitors alike. It is all about seafood but there are plenty of other options too.
We had a mixed salad, the fried anchovies, some chips, the prawns with garlic, grilled octopus and grilled.fish of the day. Everything was well cooked and excellent.
Shortly after we were seated there was a queue up the steps and we'll out the door. It is a popular place. Being so busy it did take a little longer than usual but we were happy to wait.
We will definitely return when we are next in Lanzarote....
