Oysters arrived with parts of shells in them I said that straight after that only 1 of 3 I could enjoy, but all 3 were charged, and when challenged, I was told I ate them.... I m not sure, but it looks like I should have spat them out together with the part shells I have done. Next time I visit I will do it no problem. Paella de mariacos had lovely taste but the rice wasn't al dente it was too hard, and with time, it also was too hard and didn't get soft enough. Also the bill stood and I didn't get a discount or a free shot or nothing. The only apologies I got was from the camarero in the end, but that's not good enough for tjst price. Food taste was very good, and to be fair to them, I did get a solo paella not for 2, hence half price. That's why 2 stars... not a great selection of digestives, but my double vodka arrived in a massive wine glass... Overall, one pint, 3 oysters, and half paella with a glass of wine and double vodka all for one person 51 euros They didn't have bolas nor cancha finas from the menu but good otherwise I d pay 20 euros more probably. It's a lovely location, and a place is looking great. I think I just got unlucky. Maybe next time... maybe not

We were given a recommendation from the hotel staff we were staying in to visit this restaurant if we wanted to have a good seafood paella. And they didn’t disappoint us. The paella was very good . I also saw them serving grilled fish that looked pretty good. So we decided to come back the next day for dinner to get fried anchovies and grilled fish and they were amazing. They had live music the next day we went to and the crowd was cheering. Surprisingly it was a Wednesday night not a weekend but it was so much fun. The first time we went they had enough customers but you could empty tables so we were not worried that we might not find a table since we did not make reservations ahead of time. The next day the restaurant was packed and honestly I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate us since also we went without reservation. But the staff was very nice and was able to get us a table for 2. It was a great meal to end our vacation before heading home.

We had high hopes as it looked like a busy traditional sea food restaurant. However it’s average at best . The octopus is bland, reminiscent of a bush tucker trial is it had no flavour and it’s a case of just chewing a swallowing like it’s tasteless rubber. The rosado was fine but the vegetables were cold . The croquettes were lukewarm warm, cooked, but not piping hot though they did have some flavour (paprika I think). The staff were fine but you get no salt oil etc. and the bread was as hard as a brick. All in all it’s the ultimate tourist trap and there’s much better in La Carihuela. Also 2 sets of buskers imposed themselves as we dined, I know it’s a thing but really 2 within 10 mins????

Decided to go here for a long awaited seafood paella, as, based on reviews, it seemed like the place to go. The menu stated that seafood paella was charged per person at 51 euro. That seemed very expensive but having spoken to 2 staff members ( the first waitor seemed unsure), that was clarified as 51 in total for 2. That was fine for us. The food arrived, and as we began to eat we noticed it was full of chicken, and had the usual few big prawns on top. As it was tasty and late at night we continued to eat, yet called a waitress and explained that we ordered seafood but got a mixed paella, but were ok to keep the food, once we were paying for what we got. She agreed. We left some chicken and rice at the end and ordered the bill, explained once again, that we had received the incorrect order. We were told by a number of staff that we had to pay for a seafood paella, despite receiving a mixed paella , which cost 29. We had a number of staff members who pointed at pictures of the food on the menu, and despite us having voiced our concerns to the waitress when we got our food, they insisted we pay the full 51 euro. One particular waitor was very aggressive and threatened to call the police, and at this point we called a manager. The waitress we had expressed our concerns to refused to return to the table. I am happy to pay for what i order. I am not happy to be taken taken advantage of because I am an English speaking tourist. I'm writing this, only to warn other potential customers who decide to eat here. The treatment we received was appalling, and I would urge all future diners to be very vigilant. Dining out on holidays is supposed to be a pleasant experience. This was, as far from that as i can imagine. If you want my honest opinion, I would suggest you avoid like the plague. There are so many restaurants around the area, that treat people respectfully and serve good...

Visited with my wife and step daughter. We waited over an hour for our food. Whenever we asked the staff about the food they couldn’t give a straight answer as they don’t understand english. When the food finally arrived - oh the horror! We orded two beef and a lobster. We only got one beef and a lobster. When we asked when the second beef came we got a lot of diffenrent answers ranging from “ok” to “it’s coming”. Turns out they didn’t make it as the waiter who took our order messed up. When we pointed this fact out they wanted to discuss instead of trying to fix the mistake. The beef that we did get was supposed to be cooked medium but was far beyond well done. The pommes paille (I’m not even sure they know that was what they made) were soft. The lobster was way over cooked. They managed to charge us for the doubble amount of water that we ordered. I can only conclude that the people in the kitchen that call themself for cooks are a disgrace to actual cooks! The waiters haven’t got a clue as to what they are doing. They had no interest in knowing if we were pleased with our food. Seemed more like they just wanted our money. I would never in my life set my foot in that...
