Chiringuito Mari y Sergio — Restaurant in Torremolinos

We had a stop over in Malaga heading to Zurich for 5 h and we decided to go to Mai y Sergio for lunch. We took a taxi from the airport and left us in front of the door. When the taxi left I realized that I left inside my backpack with mostly every sensible thing inside: documents, PC and lot of money. When we entered the restaurant the lady owner saw us quit panicking and she helped us from the very beginning. Calling the taxi company, identifying the taxi and ultimately finding the driver who then came back to give back the bag . The lady did not even know we were client of the restaurant and was surprised when we told her that we booked for lunch. Beside the exquisite food we had there, I could never be grateful enough to such kindness and helpful attitude. The restaurant, on top, was full of people and she could have easily ignored our needs but oppositely she was the most kind and accommodating person. -Servicio y Atención El primer punto negativo fue la actitud del camarero, quien fue muy desagradable desde el principio. Nos tomó aproximadamente media hora para que alguien viniera a tomar nuestra comanda de bebidas, un tiempo inaceptable. El camarero no sabía usar la PDA correctamente, lo que causó más retrasos y confusión en el servicio, llegando en 3 ocasiones platos que ni siquiera habíamos pedido.

-Coordinación de Platos La gestión de los tiempos entre los entrantes y los platos principales fue desastrosa. Todos los platos llegaron a la vez, lo que no solo desbordó nuestra mesa, sino que también arruinó la posibilidad de disfrutar de una comida estructurada y bien coordinada. Es fundamental que un establecimiento sepa espaciar los tiempos entre los diferentes platos, algo que claramente no ocurrió aquí. Es bastante frustrante pedir aceitunas 3 veces, que te tengas que levantar a pedirlas a la barra y que te respondan “ahora te las mando” sin ni siquiera preguntar por la mesa, la respuesta del camarero fue bastante ambigua, evidentemente las aceitunas jamás llegaron.

-Relación Calidad-Precio El precio fue otro punto negativo significativo. Considerando el pésimo servicio y la desorganización, los precios eran excesivamente altos. Es inaceptable cobrar tanto por una experiencia tan deficiente. Un establecimiento debería justificar su precio con un servicio de calidad, lo cual claramente no fue el caso. Otro aspecto negativo fue el tamaño de las raciones, que era ridículamente pequeño. Es decepcionante recibir porciones tan mínimas considerando los precios que cobran ya que no corresponde en absoluto por el servicio.

En conclusión la experiencia en este chiringuito fue extremadamente decepcionante. La combinación de un servicio desagradable, una mala gestión de tiempos, desorganización y precios abusivos, una experiencia que no recomendaría a nadie. Lo más decepcionante es que solía ser una clienta habitual, pero después de esta experiencia, desde luego que nunca volveré. When I saw the fish platter come by I thought I might regret what we ordered, I didn’t our dishes were exceptionally good, plus it was fantastic value for the quality. I love calamari, this has got to be up there with some of the best squid I’ve eaten. The sardines were sold out but next time we’ll go for Jurelles because they were sublime.
