I kinda never write reviews, esp bad.. but in case it helps someone. I don't recommend coming here, the food is not fresh. We waited for quite a long time, the service was poor, the staff knew little English. There is no salt and pepper on the tables. Brought a small bag of salt when I asked... order: calamar (overcooked) , tuna tartare - not bad, but veins from tuna.... They should have been removed! Fish pez espada with a side dish of fried potatoes: the fish was too fat, the oil was dripping, but dry inside as if it was overcooked, not enough salt, Tasteless. potatoes are literally made of plastic... stale, as if it was 2 days without refrigeration, just drowned in oil.... Entrecot with fries: entrecot-plus-minus not bad, but the fries are again like plastic. When they brought out the bill, they wrote pan y picos (bread), but we didn't have it on the table. They took it off the bill in the end. The service is weird, they brought my boyfriend's food first and then only mine...( after some time). Also whatever I asked for is out of stock. Design and interior - old place with no interior. Expensive also. ——————————————— Update for morning: Both having stomachache. The night was also hard.

Pepe y Carmen is a no frills traditional Spanish restaurant on Torremolinos beach. Their speciality is paellas although the menu includes salads, fish dishes (with an emphasis on tuna) and beef. Price wise Pepe y Carmen is in line with the area - starters and mains ranging between 8 euros and 13 euros. The paella is priced per person with each priced at between 11. 50 euros and 13.00 euros. The interior is simple with a large bar, ten indoor tables and a fairly large terrace overlooking the beach. The pella mixta was excellent with large pieces of fish and meat. The milhojas dessert was fairly average. The service was cordial and friendly.

The food was okay but not great, no sides came with the meals, there were no condiments on the table. The customer service was abysmal, when we asked for butter, vinegar and salt in Spanish (the local language) the waiter pretended to not know what we meant. When we asked for the bill the waiter threw his hands in the air as we didn't order dessert or coffee. Overall food was edible but tasteless and the customer service was rubbish.

This is a typical Chiringuito. It potentially has a good range of food in particular fish and shellfish. Apparently it’s popular for its paella, but we didn’t have that. I have to say that for an off-season midweek evening it didn’t have much atmosphere. It was quite a chilly evening, but there was no attempt to close doors and windows to make clients more comfortable. Our waiter was completely unattentive, and at one stage was chatting to someone with her back towards the dining area for 20 minutes, and it was impossible to attract her attention. I have to say that a young man, waiter serving other tables was completely the opposite. My wife had langoustines which were completely undercooked and had to be sent back. I had a steak which was okay. there was a very limited choice of desserts. I usually leave a 10% tip for reasonable service, but in this case,...

I have been putting off writing this review for weeks, however I remain incensed by how I was treated at this restaurant which I have frequented several times. We (5 dinners) all ordered our separate meals (as we do in England). I ordered the dorado fish to be cooked on the bbq, all 4 meals arrived promptly after about 20mins My fish arrived 60 mins after everyone had finished eating, clearly this was due to the colossal size of the fish which was more shark resembling!! Of course this was very unexpected and off putting, the fish was for only me!! I expect the waiter purely saw ‘Brit on holiday’ so they could extract €47 for a single fish, I actually live in Spain and this has never happened to me before. PLEASE BE AWARE of the size fish they serve you prior to it being cooked as this will end up being costly. Suffice to say I will not...
