Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another review from Paul & Nicola now officially on a world tour we are currently in sunny Spainđ and today's review is a little bit of a special one as it's the good ladies of 50th birthday yes I know it's hard to believe looking this good but yes she is 50!!! so today we decided to go out and celebrate this mile stone... As usual the good lady was in the selection and boy did she choose good.... The restaurant is called Angus Playamar steak house I would like point out this point that this has absolutely nothing to do with that abomination that we have in the UK. this restaurant is located on the seafront here in Torremolinos (hold that front page Torremolinos I know what u are thinking.. Now stop it... It's not as bad as everybody makes out) it's actually a very nice place as long as you don't go to chav town.... Lol.... anyway back to review This restaurant is a fully glass fronted restaurant stylish outdoor seating with gas burner fires to keep you warm on the two times a year it is not warm in the evening in anyone year... the restaurants entrance is stylish as you enter your find a long and inviting bar nicely stocked bar the staff are multiverse in multiple languages and all very stylishly dressed, there is even a live Dj playing chilled out relaxing tunes so as to ease you into your aperties, our waitress for the evening was a very smilly Clara who turned out to be from Brazil she was fluent in Portuguese Spanish and English she was attentive without being overbearing and as it was my good ladies 50th birthday they made her feel warm welcome and invited. The menu is stylish without being potentious we had the obligatory strawberry daiquiri and mojito as early apparatives both were well-made and reasonable priced, our starter consisted of an Argentinian pulled pork pasty but be under no illusions this nothing like anything you've ever tried before the pastry is lighter than air the pulled pork is rich and heaped in flavour, next was the red hummus and peterb bread is nice but we should have had a couple more of the pasties, the service is brisk but not offensive. The extensive cuts of meat with seafood alternative extensive is not overwhelming For main course we opted for the tasting platter which consisted of four 150 gram cuts of beef these included sirloin, rump rib eye and a new cut for me called a Flank all were absolutely to die for đđ brilliantly cooked exactly to our request there was so much we were unable to complete it with the side order of new potatoes with rosemary we even had to request a take home bag, were the good lady was able to make a second meal out of this the following day. We have both eaten at gauchos several times in its hay day and this restaurant is definitely up there. The evening was caped off with desert as it was the good ladies 50th birthday after all this culminated in the form of ice cream (I know boring) but it was just as good as the previous two courses and this was given complimentary due to her birthday and even our rendition of Happy Birthday was sung by all of the staff at the table which culminated in an a fantastic evening components go out to all that work here pls keep up great work and have a fantastic 2024. Warm regards...

Before I leave this review I have been to Angus Puerto Marina which was a great experience and beautiful food so I was delighted when I realized Angus Playamar was near to Our hotel. Booked and arrived before time and seated early which was great , we had our orders taken and drinks served , Our son's goujons and chips arrived before ours and looked tasty and he seemed to enjoy which was great but our meal for 2 was a disaster.I ordered the mixed grill steak sample which was a selection of steaks ordered medium , 2 of which were served rare but I was ok as not too fussy about eating rare although the Steak skirt was not edible as none of the sinew was removed prior to cooking so this was tough as old boots to cut and impossible to eat (photo provided) Fries were slightly undercooked and peppersauce was cold. We ordered another round of drinks which never arrived. My partners Sirloin steak was ordered medium to well and soon realized it was rare. Asking to correct it the waitress kindly obliged and returned the steak after recooking, ok , sometimes that can happen , steak returned and with fries and sides getting cold my partner tucked in again to realize the steak had barely moved from rare to medium rare (photo also provided), I could forgive overcooking the 2nd time but not undercooking again. At this stage my partner was put off much like the couple next to us whose steaks were still moo'ing after requesting medium to well too. The waitress to her credit had argued the point with the chef/cook, and offered to re-cook a third time. I mentioned it was not accepted and we would not be paying for that steak. Could have argued about the peppersauce as it was for the steak and bun we had not eaten but chose not to. The reason I knew it was a man that cooked it was because he had the audacity to question the cooking and had ventured out of the kitchen casually thinking he was un-noticed sneaking a glimpse of the steak left on our table before retreating yet again to argue about it to the waitress and another member of . Absolutely unprofessional and blatant ignorance for his inability to cook a steak to requirement . One thing that you would expect a steak house to do well. We paid for the remainder of the meal minus the disaster steak and left with a terrible experience and one I would not recommend at all. For reference. The menu states the steak skirt is "lean and tender" and I have also included the steak cooking guide from the menu which the cook certainly didn't pay attention to. View the photos and see what you think. I'd avoid and go to Puerto Marino Angus , worth the extra distance. Also , I would like to add that the waitress was pleasant and...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews on ANGUS Playamar as a family of 4 we were looking forward to eating here. On arrival we asked if they had a table of 4 and was asked if we had a reservation to which we replied no. The place wasnât busy but I said if we need to reserve I will another night. After being stood outside for a few moments a nice gentleman came over and said they had a table for 4 and where would we like to sit inside or out. This baffled us a bit as a minute ago it was like we had to reserve. We chose to eat inside so the children werenât to hot and it was air conditioned. Once seated it was like we were an inconvenience in an empty restaurant. The waiter didnât crack a smile or engage with the children like other establishments we had been previous. Once we ordered our meal sirloin steak and a rib eye for the adults we asked if they could be cooked medium rare. Once they arrived the rib eye was cooked as asked but my wifeâs sirloin was cooked well done. We sent it back and asked politely if she could have another one that is cooked medium rare as this place is not cheap to eat. The friendly guy who we seen first at the door must of been the manager and kindly apologised and a new steak was being cooked. The second steak that came out was blue but my wife doesnât mind that so obviously the chef canât cook a sirloin in this place. On looking around the place from out seats we noticed the waiters all had ear pieces and dressed with white shirts and their was a bouncer on the door dressed with a black shirt. It was like we were in a Mi5 building with no atmosphere and no smiles from any of the staff bar the manger. We didnât stay for dessert or any more drinks as we didnât feel welcome and a bit of an inconvenience. Not sure if this place likes children eating here as the kids didnât see one smile or any engagement from the staff which we have had in other restaurants in Torremolinos. If you like Mi5 style establishments with bouncers on the door and no kids this is the...
