La Cabaña — Restaurant in Torremolinos

Last week my mother and I went on the first day of our holiday to La Cabaña for a coffee at the beach. We stayed for the week, just went back to the Melia hotel for a shower and to sleep.

About the food: just try all the fish dishes, everything is fresh and very tasty! My personal favorite: Gamba’s Pil Pil. We eat them quite regularly at home, unfortunately they’ve never tasted as good as at La Cabaña.

About the location: right on the beach, with comfortable beach beds, beach umbrellas and Mediterranean view. And José, who’s always there to help (but people, please… go get your own stuff, you’ve got legs to get you somewhere. Just because you’re on a holiday doesn’t mean you don’t have to use them).

About the service/staff: we’ve been to lots of places, everywhere around Europe and so on, but we’ve genuinely never ever met staff so friendly, dedicated, working so hard, continuously ‘flying around’ to give you the best experience ever, as we did at La Cabaña! Unfortunately my mom needs a walking stroller, the slopes to the restaurant and to the beach are quite steep, every time someone rushed over to lend a helping hand. It’s the little things that makes a difference…

Let me be clear, all of the staff are worth a million, but one of them has made this week “AbFab”: Angelo, thank you so very much for everything you did to make this week so special. Your kind words, your absolute dedication, your care for my mother, your smile and jokes… I could go on and on. You’ve given us the utmost holiday experience ever, thank you so much for that. You’re going to be my most favorite ‘ketchup man’ ever! 😉

So, to end this review I would like to ask Google: sometimes 5 stars is just not enough. I really need a 10 star option, just because they really, REALLY deserve it…! Please?

Whenever you’re in the neighborhood, just go try La Cabaña yourself. You won’t be disappointed, that’s a promise…

Changed hands since most of the reviews posted here. None of the review pictures apply anymore. Melia group run it now & while they have changed all the seating & painted making it brighter & newer looking the food is a big let down. Seafood Paella for 2 was 99% rice, 3 mussels, 4 clams, 3 cocktail prawns & few bits of chopped up calamari, not a languistine, tiger prawn or other fresh fish in sight. Nachos are served cold with cold squeezy bottle cheese sauce, squeezy guacamole & chopped tomato. Bastante decepcionada Comida familiar de 3 personas Damos por sentado que ir a un restaurante en estas fechas es mejor que comer en casa,no me vale la excusa que son fechas de mucho ajetreo para tener una atención, servicio y alguna materia prima pésima, la factura es la mima el día 1 de febrero que 1 de enero. Voy a exponer solo las 2 situaciones más violentas para mí Llegamos a las 2 y 25 teníamos reserva para las 2 y 30 nos sentamos y al minuto llego el camarero pidiendo la comanda de la comida, antes que el de la bebida, le decimos que acabamos de llegar y al minuto vuelve a venir....😠😡😡 imaginaros nuestras cara. Mi respuesta a la 3 vez a sido "caballero déjeme sentarme y mirar la carta no tenga tanta prisa" respuesta del caballero "tengo prisa si no todo se atrasa" imaginaros nuestra cara...el señor ni cuenta se habrá dado porque ni miraba a la cara iba en automático.... eso es buen servicio??? Pedimos la comida y a lo 15 min viene otro señor este si, muy amable pelo media melena,lo mejor del restaurante y nos pide disculpas pero uno de los platos no lo va a sacar por que no le gustaba la materia prima, pido otra cosa y tampoco podían ponerla no tenían.
