Used to be really good but now their is either new management or a new chef.
We had a very bad experience last May and wouldn't go again, however last night friends booked it as a surprise because I had raved about Ibiza in the past. Good points. They still have quirky plates / dishes etc. Decor still good. Lovely amuse bouche, tomato and malibu, nicely served
Not so good points We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu. They never arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine, then food. Wine arrived, but still no drinks that we ordered on arrival. We reminded them. Finally they did arrive....with the starter... a bit pointless. Ages with nothing... then drinks with no glass.. pre dinner drinks that were definitely not pre dinner. No choice of potato! Just a spicy chefs special. I had it in May 22 and didn't enjoy it, so I asked for a salad instead. They sent hot vegetables. Not what I asked for, overcooked and soggy.
Couldn't have a baked potato, a boiled potato... nothing except the spicy one!
In all my life I have never been in a restaurant that does not have a pepper mill. I can understand not having one per table... but NO pepper mill at all?
Food was only ok... Mixed tapas starter was tasty, but tiny portions. Nice presentation, lacking content. Great presentation in general, but based on the very limited menu I expected better food quality.
Beef carpaccio was nice, but hardly a challenge for a chef and one cracker is just mean. Dorada was very small portion and served with a puree.. one spinach and the pork had squash ( waiter was vague..) Nothing solid so textures were missing.
None of my tablemates rated the potato side dish. We declined desserts as all four of us were unimpressed. It's sad, it used to be so good. I've given two chances before posting this review. Drinks not arriving. Drinks without glasses. Lack basics such as a choice of potato. No salad as a replacement. No pepper mill.
Why didn't we complain at the time? The last time ( May 22) I did complain and was verbally abused by a really rude chef. This time we were guests. They didn't pay attention to our requests while dining.. so we didn't feel they'd be able to fix anything. Hopefully they see this as genuine feedback. Such a shame... it used...
Read moreWow! What an experience. We came here on a recommendation of a friend of ours. We made a reservation over the phone and turned up for our meal. We were shown to our seats and the waiter brought us an "amuse bouche" which was a shot glass with a soured cream into which was poured a paprika soup. The flavour was delightful and we hadn't even had chance to look at the menu yet - It was fabulous, a choice of 4 meats, fish and a vegetarian option. When the meals arrived we realised that this place was most definitely head and shoulders above other restaurants, in fact all four of us who ate there that night described it as being in the top 3 restaurants we had ever eaten at. The meal was so good we re-booked to come back on our last night and we had slightly different meal choices but it was still as splendid. Highly recommend this place! The staff are very warm friendly and they explained exactly what we were eating, we ordered Tapas for a starter and there were many unique dishes. Next time I am going to Torremolinos I will definitely make a reservation to...
Read moreHighlight of the trip :0 The food was absolutely incredible, the duck and salmon particularly I really really recommend. The waiters were so nice and accommodating, before our food came they gave us little pineapple ‘shots’ topped coconut Malibu foam.
As aforementioned, food was amazing, only 4 stars to mention that I wouldn’t say the portions were filling, but definitely adequate and a good sized meal, but you won’t be overeating or necessarily full from just one portion. But everything was absolutely eaten; even the potatoes, they were simply boiled and fried but still so so good.
During our meal, we were in Torremolinos for the heatwave and our servers gave us little cute handheld fans to keep ourselves cool. Also after, we were given complimentary shots, with the choice of ‘Spanish liquor’ (which tasted like pure ethanol) or caramel vodka. We were also given a cute message on the bill which was presented in a little toy car which was really cute. Overall a really wonderful experience and genuinely the highlight of our trip, I wish we’d found the...
