La Tómbola — Restaurant in Torremolinos

Went Monday night 25th Aug our last night on holiday wanted a nice special meal.. This place served it up and more we'd been on the afternoon whilst walking the prom/the beach from Benalmádena to Torremolinos got lured in by the lovely frontage + the 2.50euro pints which were lovely and cold in a chilled glass, quality I love that. Looked at menu whilst there looked amazing it's a steak house (up to 180e for a one and down to as cheap as you want) huge quality award winning burgers which we marvelled at as they came out on the evening looked total quality and a proper plateful with fries salad etc... We just went for pizzas as had been months since we'd had one they were also whoppers for about 12e for mine which was an Anchovie one the Mrs one was cheaper she had ham (jamon) They put on a great quality guitarist playing from the prom to you at the tables it was excellent touch. Great night service was good beer was good food excellent both afternoon and the evening I failed to say on the afternoon they have a great menu as well it's omelette fries pizzas things you'd expect All very reasonable as well. So if you're in the area maybe all inclusive or half board go treat yourself to a table so you can people watch as the proms always busy , eat at least one great memorable meal on your holiday and get entertained by the superb guitarist. Had a late afternoon here to sample the special offer of “Argentinian” BBQ for 30€, for two people, I specifically asked if the food was fresh cooked and assured it was, I could not believe what was delivered to our table, I would not have fed it to a dog! There were 4 strips of fatty beef strips, very rare!! A piece of thick gristly boned carcass, very undercooked, I chicken drumstick, one sausage and one piece of black pudding and a portion of fries!! Not forgetting this was for two people, we asked for the carcass to be put back on the griddle ( it wasn’t a bbq it was a burger griddle ) we instead had a hot plate with a gas burner stove to cook ourselves, there was no sides zucchini as bread or salad and the garbage of an oily herby ramekin was disgusting, one beer and a glass of red wine set us back nearly 38€, there was no apologies for the shortfall except the waiter said he would tell the owner!! Myself and my partner stayed in Torremolinos for the week, stopped here for a drink, then decided to get a snack and from there we were drawn back to here several afternoons and evenings. The food is phenomenal, best we’ve ever tasted. Every bite so tasty and so fresh. Everything was perfection from steak, seafood, pizza and everything in between - the gambas pil pil is a must here!! Not only was the food perfection but the staff were also absolutely incredible. Everybody was so welcoming, helpful, polite and fun. They created a great atmosphere and were always happy to serve and have a laugh with their customers! If we are to return to Torremolinos, these guys will be the reason!! Truly can’t speak highly enough, thank you to everybody at La Tómbola for such amazing food...
