We visited Mesón Grill,Casa Pascual II with a party of 6. We arrived @ 20:00 and a table was arranged fairly swiftly and menus eventually arrived. After 5 mins we managed to order drinks and these arrived @ 20:20. We expected when our drinks arrived for our orders to be taken but this is apparently was another waiters task. This didn't happen for another 25 minutes (a total of 45 minutes (20:45)). We were seriously considering leaving for elsewhere and had put a time limit but on cue they took our order. But after ordering and waiting a further 45 mins (21:30) our food had still not arrived, we thought we were justified to complain. I walked up and expressed our dissatisfaction to a waiter, the response was loud and aggressive and made no sense at all and I was told to calm down and our meal was on its way (so is Christmas). At no point did I raise my voice. After my futile effort another member of our party decided to inquire , She told them again that we were considering leaving without the food but of course paying for what we had consumed. Again more shouty language a very angry response from whom we believe to be in charge. Once again she herself was told to calm down? She reiterated to them to forget it and we would leave paying what we owed for drinks etc. Only to be ignored and he walked away. They explained a couple of the meals had a 30 min wait time to prepare, but we were not told this at the time of ordering, although truthfully we were already aware that this was the norm @ 21:37 our meals started to arrive. Some other dinners were quick to explain that this was the norm at this establishment, that the wait was worth it because the food was good. If this had happened in the UK we would have walked. But being in Spain and not wanting to be locked up puts a different slant on things. One of our party could not eat her meal because of the upset and length of time it took to arrive. Despite claims from other dinners the food was not great at all, it was well below par. We have had a lot better experience in Wetherspoons. The staff seemed to be busy getting nowhere, incrediably ill managed. No apologies for the wait or the upset caused. It ruined what should have been a memorable last night for four of our party. Memorable it was but for the wrong reasons. Very disappointing and disgusting behaviour from the staff at this establishment. Guess we won't be going back and a definite...
Read moreHad lunch here yesterday. Waiting staff were rude but the atmosphere in the square was nice so we returned for dinner. Paella good, mixed grill fatty. Service appalling. So very rude as were the table of six natives sitting next to us. We are a couple from Ireland. If you do not want well paying tourists to dine at your establishment just put up a sign. A very xenophobic experience. Such a shame for such a lovely location. Lovely holiday but would not recommend this restaurant based on its unfriendly and somewhat aggressive waiting staff! I never give bad reviews, but of all the restaurants we visited during our stay the unfriendly welcome was appalling to visitors to your country.
When we arrived, there were only three tables, so we should have already thought, "It's not going to be the best." The waiters were initially friendly, but the atmosphere quickly changed. When we received our food, I had a mixed grill and my wife had lamb. From the first ham, we noticed a huge amount of fat. After the fourth bite, I spat my meat out into a napkin... it was unpalatable! When the waiter came to ask if it was good, I said, "No, sorry, it wasn't good." He started laughing, took our plates, and left. VERY UNFRIENDLY, this isn't what waiters deserve. I think a little respect for your customers would be nice. Please don't go here; there are MUCH, MUCH better...
