As the first result on Happy Cow and with plenty of menu options for both vegans/veggies and meat-eaters, we had to check out Sol de Beirut.

They went out of their way to cater for a group of 10 who hadn't booked and the service throughout was fantastic

Despite having several picky teenage eaters in the group, everyone loved their food. The mezza platter, fattoush and salatet rahib were perfect for the veggies. A variety of meat options kept everyone else happy.

The Lebanese beer, wine and coffee all went down smoothly.

If you're sick of the usual Costa rubbish, you'll be thrilled to eat in this low-key...

Fantastic! A very warm welcome from the team, who gave us some great recommendations, and the food lived up to the friendliness! The calamari was delicious and tender, the stuffed baby aubergines sublime, and is that not the best looking plate of hummus you've ever seen? Food very affordable and most things are available in a small or larger portion so you can have as much or as little as you like. Drinks menu short but good, with authentic Lebanese beer and wine. Shisha also available but you have to sit at one of the three tables outside to smoke it.

THE FOOD WAS NOT FRESH AND AUTHENTIC AT ALL AND GAVE US STOMACH ISSUES

We went to this restaurant last night and a few hours later I was having stomach issues and started to VOMIT. The mezze didn't taste homemade, as if it were from the shop, this is already a red flag... Service was unbelivably slow, our food went cold while we waited for the plates and the cutlery... The waiter tried his best, but they were really understaffed.

But the main issue is that the food is not fresh, not tasty at all, and I STILL FEEL SICK after 22 hours...
