Stumbled across Sabores Bistro last night after many years of visiting Torremolinos but never having seen this place before. After viewing the outside menu and being tempted to try their imaginative Scandinavian influenced dishes this is now the best we’ve tried this holiday without a doubt. We tried the tapas starters including pork cheek which I was a little wary of but which melted in my mouth. My hubby had the Nordic seafood tapa which again was delicious and our friends wanted the bouillabaisse but it sadly wasn’t available last night - all the more reason to make a return visit! For our main dishes we chose the fried beef liver which again was melt in your mouth with caramelised onions and creamy mashed potato and vegetables whilst my hubby had the to die for Hunters Schnitzel with a tasty creamy sauce which was a very generous portion so much so we all tried a piece whilst our friends indulged in the house Caesar salad and burger all washed down by a lovely white wine and finished with a slice of their lovely mango cheesecake . I only wish we’d taken a photo or two to illustrate my words. All of this was made possible by the lovely waiter and chef/ boss who we thanked profusely before we left but hasta pronto as this is a place we were so pleased to discover and...
Read moreThis is a revised review after a secoond visit. Using Google maps there are no signs to say that you have arrived but key the code for "Club" and you will be buzzed in. Our first visit was 5 star - We opted for the two award winning tapas dishes which, very understandably won awards. The meatballs were tasty and the mussels cooked in olive oil and garlic with roquefort cheese were stunning. Great service from a really friendly Italian guy. The second visit less so. The Prawns Pil Pil were surprisingly disappinting being tiny and in a sea of oil and garlic, the only flavour there was garlic, oil and maybe a little hint of paprika which overshadowed the fish. The Minute Steak was overcooked and rather dry. The Lamb Burger was very tasty but rather greasy but the chips on both dishes were superb. The gentleman who served us this evening, with what sounded like a Scandanavian accent, was no where near as interested as the gentleman 3 days ago. So near and not quite there for us, sadly marked down...
Read moreWe had not been back to this restaurant since the new owners took over. What a great surprise! We hadn't booked but the waiter managed to find us a table on the terrace on a busy Summer's evening. We tried 3 winning ruta de tapas for starters followed by the lamb burgers. Delicious food & wine. What really stood out was the professionalism & courtesy of the waiter. He appeared to be working alone so some customers had to wait for a while but at all times he kept his guests informed. A great evening hopefully to be...
