Lovely Dutch Cafe (Amstel is the tap beer if that is what you seek) with a pretty wide menu, friendly wait staff and a large fully covered (when it needs to be) glassed in patio at the front of the cafe.
Seat yourself as you do in Spain and make eye contact with any of the friendly and multi-lingual waitresses (not being gendered here because I think only women can be waitstaff but someone here must because it is all I have ever seen) and they are at the table in a flash to take your order.
The beer is cold and the food is tasty. I would lean towards the Dutch side of the menu as you can get all sorts of 'better' Spanish food elsewhere, but you choose here because it was Dutch.
I'm partial to the Kip (chicken) Sate myself, but everything that I saw come out looked good. Kip served with a salad and potatoes as well as the vegetable of the day, and if you think that might be formula you might be right (and it is a formula that works IMHO).
Easy to get the cuenta (bill) when we were done, which is saying something in Spain. Prices were reasonable if a little on the high side for Southern Spain, but you are paying for the food of another land, and that peanut sauce isn't going to come to Spain all on its lonesome.

Read moreWe really crave Kip Sate (a chicken scewer with thick peanut sauce) sometimes and found out that they had it, so we decided to stop and give it a try.
Service was friendly and fast. They had a lot of tables in what seemed like it would be open to the beach if it hadn't been for the inclimate weather that day. Servers all spoke English, Dutch, and Spanish at a minimum.
Overall the food was good. We both ordered Kip Sate with fries. We were pleasantly surprised that they came with not only fries, but a small salad and a daily vegetable, which was pretty good cauliflower on the day we went.
My only negative was that their peanut sauce was not as heavy as many places I have had it, but it was still really yummy so I cant...
Read moreThe first tip off that this place might be good was the fact that it was open and busy in February when a lot of other places around it were either closed or empty. They have menus in English if you don't speak Spanish and the staff are from all over Europe so they csn speak many languages. The owners are Dutch. Food was tasty and fresh, I had salmon and my father cod. There were meat options on the menu as well. Prices were reasonable and there was no rush, our meal took 9ver two hours, a common thing in Spain. Finally free wifi is available. Overall, a good choice for a tourist. Looking around I would say most guests were not Spanish. I...
