Gyros House — Restaurant in Torrevieja

I’d like to say I’ve become a regular at the Gyros House, family owned business. Not only is the food incredibly cooked that leaves you drooling but the presentation is very impressive. They have this unique sauce that is applied to their platters that I cannot find anywhere else, talk about special! The atmosphere of this restaurant is very cozy with a STUNNING view of the beach. The modern interior provides a clean aesthetic that is hard to find. On top of all of these wonderful things this restaurant provides, the service is very attentive with constant assistance. They always make sure to meet my needs and take care of what I request. Always with a smile on their face too. This Syrian family owned business comes from Sweden, such a long way from Spain, and they want to provide their wonderful food to the hungry customers of Spain! How wonderful! I visited this restaurant with great expectations. I was very disappointed! I count Greeks among my friends. I have already been on holiday in Greece. I have experienced Greek hospitality differently. Not that I expected it in Spain, but... we ordered OUZO because we hadn't been given any as a welcome. Not that I'm being petty, but... €5.00?? As I'm a little familiar with Greek cuisine, I ordered Plato Gyros. I ordered, then the waiter came back to confirm the order again! Ok I thought. Thorough. When the order came to the table, I got a pita. I had NOT ordered pita. The waitress didn't apologize, just gave me a dirty look. Then she left without saying a word. After 10 minutes she came back with the Plato Gyros I had ordered. I was served a Plato Gyros with cocktail sauce. YUCK 🤢

It wasn't busy at all! But if you're constantly on the phone, customers/guests are just a nuisance! I can NOT recommend it. If I feel like eating Greek again, I'll try AKROPOLIS.

Ich besuchte dieses Restaurant mit großen Erwartungen. Ich wurde sehr enttäuscht! Ich zähle Griechen zu meinen Freunden. Ich war bereits in Griechenland im Urlaub. Ich habe griechische Gastfreundschaft anders erlebt. Nicht dass ich das in Spanien erwartet hätte, aber... wir bestellten Ouzo, da wir keinen zur Begrüßung bekommen hatten. Nicht dass ich kleinlich wäre, aber... 5,00 €?? Wir bestellten... da ich mich mit der griechischen Küche ein wenig auskenne, bestellte ich Plato Gyros. Ich bestellte, dann kam der Kellner zurück, um die Bestellung noch einmal zu bestätigen. Als die Bestellung an den Tisch kam, bekam ich ein Pita. Ich hatte KEINE Pita bestellt. Die Kellnerin entschuldigte sich nicht, warf mir nur einen bösen Blick zu. Dann ging sie wortlos. Nach 10 Minuten kam sie mit dem von mir bestellten Plato Gyros zurück. Mir wurde ein Plato Gyros mit Cocktailsauce serviert. Igitt 🤢

This is hands down the best beachside restaurant/ cafe in Torrevieja. Why?? Because the staff are fantastic, welcoming and offer great service. The food is great especially the pizzas. I’ve been here 4 weeks and visited many restaurants. You won’t find a better atmosphere and food for the money. Yes like any city there are top restaurants that you will pay good money for but for a reasonable budget...
