My dining experiences at Las Columnas exceeded all expectations and left an indelible mark on my holiday. I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment multiple times during my trip, and each visit was marked by a level of excellence that I seldom encounter elsewhere.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was met with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the entire evening. The staff exhibited a remarkable attention to detail, starting with the way they elegantly poured the wine into our glasses and meticulously arranged the table settings. It's these small touches that demonstrated a commitment to ensuring every guest's experience was nothing short of exceptional.
One aspect that truly stood out was the thoughtful provision of a hook rack for our belongings. This simple addition showcased the establishment's dedication to making diners feel not only comfortable but also cared for. It's these seemingly minor gestures that collectively contribute to the overall ambiance and hospitality.
Let's talk about the food – an absolute highlight of every visit. While it's true that the preparation might take a bit longer, the result was unequivocally worth the wait. The fact that the kitchen didn't rush the cooking process translated into dishes that were bursting with flavor, thoughtfully crafted, and nothing short of delicious. This approach to cooking, with an emphasis on quality over speed, is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence.
The desserts at Las Columnas deserve their own accolades. These sweet creations were the perfect conclusion to each meal, showcasing a dedication to ensuring that the entire dining experience remained consistently exceptional from start to finish.
Adding to the charm of the place were the two older gentlemen who often served us. Their experience and expertise were palpable in the way they seamlessly navigated the dining room, attending to guests' needs with grace and professionalism. Their presence truly elevated the service and added a personal touch that made each visit all the more memorable. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment – they are undoubtedly some of the best waiters in the world.
Reflecting on these experiences, I can confidently say that dining at Las Columnas was not just about food; it was about the symphony of hospitality, attention to detail, and culinary artistry coming together to create a truly exceptional dining adventure. This establishment managed to deliver an experience that was both distinct and remarkable, making my holiday all the more special. I wholeheartedly recommend Las Columnas to anyone seeking a dining experience that transcends the ordinary and embraces the...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant because we were walking along the Malecon in Torrevieja and it caught our attention. We decided to go in because being in the area we wanted to try the rice dishes. At first everything was excellent, the waiter with excellent service and recommendation. We ordered two starters to share, everything was great. Octopus and anchovies with truffle a delicacy. The problem came when we were waiting for the main dish. (rice with lobster). At the first bite I felt that I had easily swallowed a wave of the saltiest sea I could imagine. Immediately afterwards my father tried the same thing and said “this is inedible” The waiter (David) asked us what had happened, and we commented that it was salty and really inedible. The person in charge, manager or supervisor, I don't know what his position was, came with an attitude. First, saying that since we are not from the area, we don’t eat salty like they do. Second, he treated us like ignorant Caribbean people. Lastly, he told us that he would remove the rice and we would only have to eat the lobster, and for that he would give us a discount!! for removing the rice from the plate. Proposal that we didn’t accept. If the main reason and why we decided to enter was the rice. So in a rude tone he told us “you will have to wait another 25 minutes!! We said perfect we’ll wait! Immediately afterwards and reluctantly he told us "I will have to offer you something from the house". In a joking tone we told him, we could accept a bottle of wine, obviously it was a resounding No! and we understood. He returned within minutes with another starter plate. That’s was very good. A mistake happened with the rice and unfortunately the Manager did not know how to handle the situation. After 25min, Mr. person in charge, himself brought us the new rice, which I have to tell you was delicious!!. But this Mr. for the second time, brought us again his bad management manners, he made the remark that we not being from the area, did not know how to appreciate the saltiness in the food, because he and the chef themselves had tried the first rice and that for them was very good. We confirmed this situation with our excellent waiter and he told us that it was a lie, that he had tried the rice himself and it was inedible. To finish I just want to say that the restaurant itself worth visiting, the food is excellent, the location is magnificent, the staff service in general is good. Sadly, there was an error in a plate and his manager did not know how to deal with the...
Read moreNothing to complain about the food. It is great. Service level is sub par! We booked a table well well ahead of time for 8 people. When ordering for 6 adults and 2 children. All of the adults got their food 20 min before the children. When we ordered more drinks before the main course,we had ample time to finish our meal ( ALL OF US ) before the new drinks arrived. When pointing this out to the server we got 6 shots "on the house". Before this I asked to talk to the manager but was averted and completely disregarded. No discount. Nothing exciting "we are really busy tonight". Which something I can relate to and understand...but how it was handled was....just bad. Last year this was a really good experience and a service level that was epic. But, this gives me NO reason to come back or recommend the place other than the quality of the food.
Really disappointed since we brought two other families to a place we recommended. This will not happen again.
For context..this is our 9th year in Torrevieja for the summer...we've grow to like this place over the years...but this experience will send us to other places for the...
