The 'Italian' restaurant I dont know, but my review is about the bar bit attached where people sit and have a beer or coffee. It is in a nice location facing Los Locos beach and has an interesting layout, with chairs and tables on both sides of the covered and enclosed bar area, as well as outside at the front facing the beach. I would however avoid this establishment. If you walk towards Torreviaja you'll find better. The first thing to point out is that it only has one male & female toilet for the bar area and no disabled facilities I could see. - typically for Spain, there is no signposting Whilst clean both toilets are very small and quite inadequate for the size of the place - at the height of the tourist season, you will queue!! Having travelled a fair bit - because I've seen it before - I'd say this place suffers from the fact that it has a monopoly on custom at this end of Torreviaja and Playa los Locos, which is reflected in an undercurrent of contempt evident on the part of waiting staff, who clearly assume that all their customers are rich, have more money than sense, and so for example they can keep rather than give you change below a euro - yes that did happen to me. It is one of those typical tourist type bars where there is no transparent pricing, so you may find yourself getting charged what they think they can get away with. The coffee is pretty disgusting and a rip off at €1.80 whilst the only time I ever tried one of their confectionary items it was ridiculously over the top and not really what you'd expect to go with a coffee - it was also a rip-off at €6. I've lived in Spain a number of years have moved here recently. Having visited this bar/restaurant on a number of occasions, I wont be patronising...
Read moreWe went here mainly because we couldn’t find parking in the city on Friday night to go to our first choice which was a little further down the coast, we thought the restaurant looked quite nice so we gave it a go, we were quite disappointed in it honestly. We first walked in and no one approached us..then the owner/manager got up from a table on the opposite side of the restaurant and walked over to see if we wanted to sit inside or outside.. We ordered drinks and I got an Aperol spritz which came nicely presented and that got my hopes up but the food came out mere minutes after ordering which brought them swiftly back down. We ordered calzone and a pizza and both were quite undercooked. We got essentially no service from the wait staff who were busy chatting and having a drink while waiting for the restaurant to fill up. No one asked us if the food was ok or not and when I asked to see a dessert menu we were handed a business card to scan..? We didn’t order anything because no one asked if we wanted anything..so we just got the check and went. Very poor service, it honestly felt like the staff were more interested in joking around and staring at the sexy waitress in an adjoining restaurant than with their customers. Do...
Read moreUnfortunately not good.
We were a party of 3 and visited because there are many good reviews here.
Here is an overview of what we ordered -
Vegetarian lasagna - this arrived frozen in the middle and barely cooked - we asked for it to be sent back to be heated through but it still came back cold the second time.
Veneziana pizza - this had a few sad looking pieces of red pepper and was slathered in a very cheap yellow mozzarella which was just nasty. The whole pizza was just pretty tasteless.
Vegan person ordered pizza without cheese and some mushrooms - this was the better out of these but still underwhelming.
No apology was offered for the part frozen lasagna and service was underwhelming also.
The place is nicely decorated but that's about it. Someone also left open the door and we asked them to shut it as it was really crafty as it's cold here on a December night. They didn't get the hint as they then cracked open a window!
On top of all this we were overcharged 63 euros which was incorrect - 2 pizzas, lasagna, 1 glass of wine, 2 Fanta cans - we were in such hurry to leave we only realized after we got home that we had been...
