Edited July 2024 Seems like the place has changed ownership and I was disappointed last week when we visited, as we do regularly in the summer, and received food which was not up to its usual standard. The food seemed overcooked, portion size was quite smaller and without the side salad that usually accompanied it. Service also seems to have take a hit, not as friendly or as quick as it always was so whatever has changed, it's not for the better. Still decent plce to go bit has seen better days ! ‐---‐------------------------------
Been here many times over the years. Never disappoints! Really tasty, well cooked food, large portions, great selection of ice creams and other desserts. Prices unbeatable, menu of the day especially. And right on the boardwalk with uninterrupted view of the sea of you’re lucky enough to get a seat at the front! Recommend to make a reservation if you want to go for lunch as around 1/2pm the place is packed, for...
Read moreWe’ve visited Valdes multiple times for breakfast since coming to La Mata. The food is super reasonably priced, with good options! The restaurant looks out to the sea, with lots of seating options. You are also able to sit inside, which is decorated with lovely fake plant decor and is always super clean. The restaurant seems to be busy in all hours of opening but you are always able to get a table (in my experience).
The staff are really friendly and offer a great service, speaking both Spanish and English. The food is served quickly and always comes hot and fresh. The eggs are absolutely delicious! The churros come in sizes of 6 or 12, with the option of a small or large cup of chocolate. They also come with a side of sugar to sprinkle and they are delicious!
The coffees are well priced and are delicious, and the fresh orange juice is lovely!
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Valdes if you’re looking for a cheap but good...
Read moreI highly recommend this place for breakfast. We went for a croissant filled with Serrano ham and cheese, as well as a strawberry crêpe. Both were fresh and perfectly prepared. The croissant was crispy and fresh, while the crêpe melted in the mouth and, most importantly, wasn’t greasy. The coffee wasn’t the best—slightly bitter for a cappuccino—but that’s a matter of taste. The service was incredibly friendly, with a lady who spoke fluent English! All of this in the setting of the beach and the sea. On a calm, windless morning it’s a real pleasure, though less so when the strong sea breeze blows everything away ;) A place truly worth...
