Restaurante Vela Beach — Restaurant in Torrevieja

This was absolutely the worst service I've eve experienced in Spain. I was standing by the entrance to the restaurant (past the terrace) for about 5 minutes with two of the waiters coming and going past me as if I was invisible. Then I asked if we can be seated. One waiter pointed to the other one and said "my friend will help you". The "friend" passed me again without noticing. I was with the very hungry 6-years old girl and she was totally lost and confused, kept asking me what's happening. Then I decided to sit in one if the tables on the terrace hoping that somebody will come to us. No one did. I waited for about 5 minutes, both waiters were passing by numerous times. Then I went inside the restaurant and asked "if you are not going to serve us, just say so". He said that they were closed!! With many people still eating on the terrace and inside the restaurant. And they just sitted very nicely dressed ladies right in front of my eyes! I've never felt so humiliated. My girl was really upset. Thank God, there was very (!!!) nice ice cream place nearby. The guy was so friendly and nice! We had an ice cream, I also had a cocktail and we went home. I believe that foid might be good there, but the way they treat the customers...

This was booked for my husband's birthday present as a surprise by our friends who live in la Mata. They reserved a table by visiting the restaurant and requesting a particular table. When we arrived at the restaurant they said there was no reservation. They found us a table and we had a Caesar salad for starters between us. Chicken was breaded and tough. Not parmesan cheese was the equivalent. 3 fillet steak and 1 lamb. Steak with pepper sauce. Sauce was cold and about one teaspoon each. Sent it back and asked for more sauce for 3 and hot. Replaced with 2 portions about 1.5 tablespoons in each. Told him there was 3 of us and he said that was normally for 4. Still warm but not hot. Who can ruin fillet steak? Was tiny and mine cooked blue was clay cold. Smallest portion of vegetables I have ever seen and also cold. When I went to pay I informed them I wouldn't make a scene in front of other customers. 150 euros, disgraceful. Oh 2 vodkas and lemon, 1 bottle of wine which was 2 and a half price to buy. We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this restaurant. We came in just to have some drinks, and after sitting at a table and ordering multiple rounds over the course of about 40 minutes, a man (presumably a manager or staff member) suddenly started yelling at us in front of the entire restaurant. He claimed we shouldn’t have been sitting at that table if we were only having drinks and insisted we should’ve sat at some other tables located 10 meters away.

If it’s truly that important where guests sit depending on whether they’re ordering food or just drinks, that should be clearly communicated at the start, not aggressively shouted after nearly an hour. His tone was extremely hostile, and the entire restaurant went silent from the outburst — it was shocking and deeply embarrassing.

The staff’s irritation seemed to build over time, but no one said anything until this man suddenly exploded. It was honestly one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. Completely unacceptable behavior...
