Lew's — Restaurant in Torrox

Looking at the reviews thought I might get a decent English breakfast - sadly I was wrong. I ordered the standard items, sausage, bacon, fried bead, beans, tinned tomatoes & toast. The fried bread appeared to have been cooked in a deep fat fryer, it was over cooked and very hard, I think the sausages were cooked the same way, the toast was also over cooked & very hard. The pricing structure is very confusing, menu says 5 items for €4.95 when you go to pay the bill you get charged €1.16 per item! Overall not a good experience - have spoken to lots of ex-pats in the area & mentioned the breakfast at Lews - many said the pricing is confusing & appears to be a little over the top currently, plus it seems to have gone down hill a little over the past few months - I won’t be trying the breakfast again - unless...

I just love Lew's. Our first time here and we will all be going again every two or three weeks. There were 10 of us. 2 people had been there before and 100% recommended it. We've never tasted fish and chips so good. The cod was perfect and the batter so light. The mushy peas were wonderful Most of us couldn't eat all of the chips because the plate was much more than enough. The cherry 🍒 pie with custard was divine as was the apple pie. 😋😋 As for the family that complained about there were not anywhere near enough chips. They said that 4 portions of chips would have equaled 1 portion I can only imagine that they must all be huge with the appetite of at least 4 people. Shame on them. How rude and glutenous...

We have visited Lews before and been impressed with the service and portions. Today we decided to buy our lunch there for us and our teen daughters to eat on the beach. Much to our dismay, after unwtapping countlless paper wrappings we found the smallest portion of chips we have had in our lives. I ended up not having and giving mine to my daughter's and they were still so hungry afterwards. I can't believe we had to pay 12 euros for 4 portions of "large" chips which were probably the equivalent of one portion if you put them together. 1 portion for 12 euros... So so disappointed and now we'll probably never go again because we just can't accept portions like this. We had even recommended Lews to other...
