Restaurant Sa Barca — Restaurant in Tossa de Mar

DON'T EVER COME HERE! Me and my boyfriend came here to have dinner and we felt sick at the first bite of the entrées. You could tell the quality of food was not good. We told the waiter respectfully that we didn't like the food and that we didn't want the main dish, but that we would pay for what we had. Next, another waiter came and in a very rude and angry way told us that we had to right to dislike the food, but that's how it was done – even though we're both half Catalans and know Catalan cuisine. We just wanted to pay, but we had to endure an extremely rude waiter telling us that basically we were dumb tourists for not appreciating the worst food we had in Tossa de Mar. In the end, we payed for the entire menu, even though we didn't eat it – as if we could do that. Just a waste of money and disrespectful treatment to...

Excellent food and wine. My husband and I were searching for a satisfying meal during a late rainy evening. As we walked by the restaurant, we stopped to look at the menu and noticed their great options, from tapas to main courses. We decided to have dinner at Sa Barca, and we are so glad we did! My husband ordered the grilled sardines and a simple local tomato and olive salad; both were simple yet flavorful. I ordered the monkfish (a local specialty) and the scallop and mango salad. The monkfish was a highlight—it was perfectly cooked, and the broth was very tasty! We both ordered a glass of their house white wine, which was the best complement to our meal. It was perfectly fruity and floral and not too dry. We will be returning to taste more items...

Just another typical tourist trap....

Do you like your food frozen, canned and/or tinned? Then this is the place for you.

From the sardines that came straight from a tin to the plate, to the cannelloni with sauce that tasted like it came out of a jar, to the black rice consisting of what seemed to be poor quality frozen 'seafood', most likely seafood extender (look it up). Especially after we were shown photos of the black rice covered with prawns and mussels when we asked what it came with (we ordered the daily menu, so maybe they 'accidentally' showed us what came with the full priced black rice).

Either way I would not recommend. We've had great quality daily menus at other restaurants in...
