La Zeyna Restaurante — Restaurant in Valencia

Let me start by saying that I know nothing about Senegalese food, so my comments are coming from a very Western perspective.

My wife and I had fataya, mafe, and a lamb dish that was different than anything we thought we had ordered.

Fataya is a kind of meat and potato samosa in the shape of an egg roll. It came with a rosy sauce that was very salty. The fataya itself was on the salty side so it wasn't good to have with the sauce. If the fataya had just a bit less salt, it would have been very flavorful and excellent.

Mafe is a meat stew with peanuts served over rice. The flavor was outstanding. My only comment is about the meat-vegetable-rice ratio. I suspect it was very authentic, with about 2 cups of cooked rice, about 4 ounces of meat, and one piece of carrot the size of my big toe. From a western perspective, I would have appreciated more vegetables or more meat or both in light of the volume of rice. Then again, that may have made the dish less authentic. I don't know. Either way, it tasted great.

Lastly was the mystery lamb dish, which came in a bed of special broken rice with sauteed onions. We noted to the waiter that this was very different from what we thought we had ordered, which included lots of vegetables, so he took the dish back and they put on some of a vegetable stew normally reserved for a different dish. Out of this world. I could not recommend this little hidden treasure enough. My heart belongs here 🩷 the cuisine offered here was totally out of this world. Je suis deçue. Ma facture était à 40€ ( 3 plats de riz pour les adultes et 2 plats de frits de pommes pour mes enfants). J'ai payé par carte bancaire. Je constate tout de suite dans mon compte bancaire qu' au lieu de préléver 40€ vous m'avez prélever 41 euros. Pourquoi 1€ en plus? Cest pas du vol?

J'etais juste de passage en Espagne; si j'y vivais je serais retourner dans votre restaurant pour vous le demander.

Celle qui m'a servi est une dame petite de corps, mince avec des cheveux courts; je crois qu'ils sont teinté ses cheveux. Elle m'avait demandé si je veux la facture j'ai dit non, elle en a donc profité pour ajouter 1€de plus. C'etait dimanche matin le 27/08/2024. Je lui avais même dit que je suis pas contente du prix des frits. Le prix des frits de pommes etait abusé. Chaque plat ne comptait même pas 10 frits de pommes à l'interieur mais vous avez facturé 5€ le plat. J'ai donc payé 10€ pour 2 petits plats de frits. Je n'ai jamais acheté les frits de pommes aussi chère pour cette quantité dans un restaurant. Si j'avais su que les frits de pommes sont aussi couteux dans votre restaurant je ne les aurais jamais commandé.

C'est la première fois qu'on me donne un montant à payer et on prélève plus. Je sais pas si c'est normal. Que cette servante vous explique pourquoi elle l'a fait.
