Maria Bonita Ruzafa — Restaurant in Valencia

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Worst service ever, never been treated so badly by a restaurant in my life! I was so happy that I found a Brazilian restaurant in this city and I took a friend to have a quick lunch. We ordered 2 pastéis - calabresa for my friend and cheese for me. When it arrived, I cut it in half and realized I got a cheese and ham pastel and called the waiter to change it. He insisted that it was my mistake, that we ordered that pastel and kept repeating it a lot of times. He was clearly inexperienced, so I tried to be nice and did not buy the fight. He then proactively brought the owner of the restaurant to our table. She asked what happened and when I told her, the waiter kept insisting that the mistake was mine, not his, and when I told her that I did not want any pastel anymore, she turned to me and said “if you don’t want to eat it, then why the hell did you touch it? Now you’re paying for it”. This situation was so INSANE and I was so chocked and embarrassed for inviting my friend to this horror show, that I just paid the bill and left. The food wasn’t even good, they take a looong time preparing even the simplest items and it was overpriced for those small portions. RUN...

Unfortunately, the communication of customer service staff was rude. I invited a friend to try out Brazilian cousine at Maria Bonita in the evening. I asked one of the staff for recommendation. He (guy with beard) said "everything is in the menu". No recommendation was given. I intended to leave for another restaurant, but I was unaware of another Brazilian restaurant around. Thankfully, a lady was kind to us while serving the meal.

I thought that it could be better another day. Then, I returned to the same place with another friend for a Brazilian breakfast. We waited for the waiter so long even after asking him if we could place our order. My friend also asked the waiter if there was any seats outside. He didnt even look at us and said "no places outside". We stayed indoors for a few more minutes waiting for customer service, but when we decided to leave, the waiter approached us asking for our order.

We said that we were leaving. We went to another place right beside Maria Bonita. There were more clients and one waitress. However, it was noticeable that everyone was being well treated and we got our coffee quickly.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend...

10.50 euros for a hamburger with Brazilian sausage. I was expecting a hamburger made of fresh sausage meat. But, the bread frozen then heated up so it crumbled when you picked the burger up. A drab, grey burger and slices of processed sausage underneath. Gross! No salad on the side or french fries. And the irony is the burger is stuffed into a french fry basket. Just sad.

All the employees wear gloves but walk about touching everything. And because they wear gloves , am pretty sure they don’t disinfect their hands. Gross!

Just seems a place without love and heart. People going through the motions. Won’t be going back.
