We got there at 8:45 pm, 75 mins before the kitchen closes, and got a table for 2 within 10 minutes although they were very busy.
The server explained to us the daily specials menu thoroughly and was very attentive, despite the large number of tables she was serving that night. Service was fast and the food was incredible. The Aubergine tempura with honey glaze was my favourite tapa dish that I had in all of Spain! A perfect combination of sweet and salty with an unbelievable contrast in texture between the soft eggplant and the crispy tempura.
The Paella Valenciana was another excellent item on their menu. Generous portion of chicken and rabbit and the veggies (artichoke, kidney beans, and Romano beans) added a lot of freshness to the dish. Good rice caramelization, however, I wish it had more crispy bits.
Other dishes we got were the shrimps in garlic butter and the asparagus and cheese pastry on a bed of jam. Both were phenomenal. I loved that the shrimp was pealed completely. Pro tip: if you are getting the shrimps, don't eat the bread they serve you at the beginning of your meal until you get the shrimps, then dip the bread in the garlic butter.
We had other dessert plans afterwards so we didn't try their dessert but our neighbouring tables got the basque cheesecake and crema Catalana and they looked amazing.
Overall, I would totally recommend this place even if you are in Valencia...
Read moreI would give food 2 stars and service definitely 5 stars. Everyone was lovely and staff was helpful, polite and engaging. Food was lacking and truth be told average at best. Salad was with tinned, low quality tuna and tinned corn, bravas were with the cheap aioli that one can find in a supermarket. The dishes that were good were the calamares and the cod balls (though again a bit spoiled with that aioli). We didn’t want to complain on a busy night but €60 didn’t feel like good value for money taking into consideration the quality of what was served.
Edit: Please learn some humility. Suggesting that I don’t know what I am talking about because I am foreign is quite rude. Instead of being defensive you could take some feedback on board. Your tuna is low grade (mushy and very small bits) and I guarantee you other places around serve much better tuna (yes, tinned or jarred but much better quality, in big chunks), your salsas and vinegar are Hacendado (Mercadona’s own brand) and as much as I appreciate Mercadona is a Valencian brand it is hardly something you would like to be served in a restaurant as when people go to restaurants they expect something better than what they can whip up at home. Shame that the polite staff that works in the restaurant doesn’t reply to...
Read moreMasusa in Valencia is a culinary treasure that left a lasting impression on my taste buds and my heart. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by an amazing environment that perfectly blended modern elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the paella. Having sampled this iconic dish across Spain, I can confidently say that Masusa serves the best paella I have ever tasted. The rice was cooked to perfection, infused with the rich, smoky flavors of saffron and the freshest seafood. Every bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that celebrated the essence of Valencian cuisine.
The service at Masusa was equally remarkable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Their recommendations and attentiveness added a personal touch that enhanced the overall enjoyment of our meal.
Masusa is not just a restaurant; it's a destination for anyone seeking the finest paella in Spain, accompanied by impeccable service and a delightful ambiance. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia—you won’t be...
