We tried la cachapera yesterday!!! I have mixed feelings because the service was really bad. It took the guy around 30 minutes our drink. He said he would come after 20 minutes, but somehow it took him 10 minutes extra to order only drinks. But because we waited so long we already knew what we wanted to eat. I think that took also around 20 minutes or something. I had the arepa and I didn’t really liked it so much hahaha. The arepa it self was quite thick and because it had so many dry ingredients it was quite hard to swallow. I wished that the Arepa "La Libertadora" had mashed avocado or a sauce so it would be less dry. It wasn’t also fully cooked I had the feeling. I wished the chicken was more flavourful. But on the other hand the Cachapa was really nice! 1 half was with pulled pork that had a nice strong flavour and the other half was with shredded chicken and avocado mayo sauce. I think that was a really combination and would recommend this dish! We had also little arepitas what also was very delicious and the sauce that came with it was really lovely as well. I wouldn’t recommend to sit inside. It is very echoing, so that wasn’t very nice. But I would like to try it again on a...
Read moreMore like a 3.5 with some improvements below. Tasty food with nice decor and some very nice Venezuelan dishes. The place is relatively new and follows a more modern concept of dining (menu on the QR code, waiters using a digital PoS system etc). The food was good and plentiful. I was pretty hungry so we had a starter and a main but would have easily been ok with just the main. The service was ok but when they get busy, it starts to drop. It gets quite loud at times. Also, a tip is requested when you pay which threw me off and bothered me. You feel obligated to add a tip (lowest option was 15% unless you select other). I know in other counties, tipping is a thing but here in Spain it should not be expected. We also never got offered desert which was a shame. Not sure I would come back but would recommend if you hadn’t had Venezuelan...
Read moreWhile wandering around in search of a lunch spot, we stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I kicked things off with a refreshing guava daiquiri that was so good, I’m already counting down the days until I can sip on another one. I’ve also got my eye on the tamarind flavor for my next visit!
This was my first experience with a cachapa, and it absolutely blew me away! I opted for the chicken and avocado mixed cachapa, and let me tell you, the pancake-like wrap surrounding the creamy avocado chicken salad was a delightful twist. What a fantastic find! This just goes to show that sometimes, the best adventures come from simply exploring new places. Who knows what other treasures are waiting to be discovered...
