We were visiting the city in July and came to this restaurant to eat Arroz negro. The day before took an appointment for 1PM. We arrived few mins before and the place opened at 1PM so we were the first persons to get in. There was another group and we were placed in a cornered table on the very inside chamber. We asked for a change of table and the girl had to ask to her boss for that. We finally got a better place with a better air conditioning feeling. I have to say that the service we got didn't feel very welcoming, seemed like they didn't like questions we had, questions we made for general culture. If you know what a "Sepia" is, we didn't until then 🙂. Drinks were served and chips as drinks sides but noticed everyone else was getting olives 😔 We asked for Sepia de Playa con cebolla y ajos and Pulpo asado as starters. As main we asked for the Rodaballo and of course the Arroz negro de sepia y calamares, also bread and a white wine bottle. They forgot to bring the bread. They also forgot to bring serving utensils for the rice. Dessert was also very good. I recommend the torrijas. The bad side was we never saw an smile and the waitress attitude didn't felt good. I will save my opinions on that, will focus in facts. I recognize the food was amazing, the Arroz negro is to repeat. Everything was tasty and delicious. I'm giving 3 stars which is the middle of the scale because of the great food but not so good service. Honestly we didnt felt welcomed. This was reflected in the tip, we gave 10% instead of 20% as we are used to...

I want to say the restaurant is gorgeous, definitely has potential for better dinning experience - but right now it’s outdated and food needs some serious change or upgrade. The food is not appealing and neither it was delicious. Dishes we had you can get for half of the price cheaper in any local bar and it will taste better. Octopus very chewy and hard. Calamares soggy from outside and rubbery from inside. Patatas bravas too oily. Croquetas just okey. There was no music and the whole atmosphere felt very weird. It fact it actually made us so uncomfortable, we just wanted to leave as soon...

Excellent typical dishes in an elegant environment with friendly attentive service. We were a party of two locals and two Americans. We enjoyed appetizers of excellent mixed seasonal tomatoes with tuna belly slivers, paella with cod, chickpeas and onion eaten from the pan , excellent flans with sorbet and coffee. We chose a very highly rated Valencian red wine and our local guests drank beer beforehand. The whole meal was 114 Euros, very attractively priced. Highly...

Finally, THE paella has been found. We were on the hunt for quite a while, and our main target during a short layover in Valencia was to find the right spot for this dish specifically. I was quite surprised that it is a full-on restaurant, but paella itself was very reasonably priced. Bottomline - I enjoyed scrabbling the last bits of rice from the dish. Absolutely loved it. Hint: probably a good idea to book the spot as the place got packed during lunch hour.

Had the pleasure to visit for a business lunch. We had a fresh, very tasty tomato salad as an appetizer. Main course, traditional Valencian style paella with chicken, rabbit and duck. For dessert a simple, but delicious composition of toast, egg, caramelized sugar and cinnamon. If you, like me, have had too many bad experiences with paella, give this place a shot. You won't regret it or you will never have to try this dish again.
