Restaurante Malcom and Barret — Restaurant in Valencia

I was at Malcom and Barret for 9 nights in August. This place is wonderful, I am very fussy when it comes to services but the staff here is the most polite and professional I have seen in a 3 stars hotel. The room very clean, also cleaned everyday by the cleaners. The breakfast was not included but it only cost €9.5 per head and the selection is big enough to satisfy everyone's taste. Also kids under certain age don't pay for it (mine was 6). The coffee!! Absolute joy. The restaurant is cozy, modern decorated and the food is delicious. 10% discount for hotel residents apply at all times. This is my first ever holiday not to be ruined in a way by my accommodation. Also I never write this long reviews, but I could write even more for this place. Valencia is a must visit place, clean, people are cool and relaxed, architecture is amazing, plenty to visit. We stayed at this hotel today and decided to go down to the restaurant. The restaurant looks attractive, ordered food. I ordered Patatas Alla Valenciana my husband ordered the secret pork. I found something like a hair in my dish, at first I decided not to tell the waiter, then I pulled another one out of my mouth. I decided to tell the waiter, his reaction surprised me. He said it was not a hair and he would show me what it was. He brought a part of the bag where potatoes are kept. He just brought a torn piece with threads sticking out of it. I myself work in the restaurant industry and I understand that this is not normal. No one apologised. The taste and quality of the food does not correspond...

Reasonably priced restaurant, especially considering that it's connected to a hotel. Very good selection of dishes, and they do paella for 1 which is hard to find in Valencia. The white fish was very good. The portion sizes are a bit inconsistent, some dishes are much smaller than the others but it's hard to tell from the menu (e.g. white fish dish was very small compared to the paella or the burger).
