The Black Turtle - Ruzafa — Restaurant in Valencia

I recently dined at Black Turtle, drawn in by its proximity to my Airbnb and the buzz surrounding it. One of the immediate positives was the genuinely friendly staff—they were accommodating and contributed to a pleasant dining atmosphere.

However, my excitement waned when I tried the Bollywood Burger. While the presentation was appealing, I couldn't help but feel that the promised kick and flavor were missing. I was eagerly anticipating a burst of spice, but unfortunately, the burger fell short of my expectations. It left me wanting more in terms of taste and excitement.

Regrettably, I found the overall experience at Black Turtle to be overhyped. The lack of bold flavors in their signature dish, despite the friendly staff and convenient location, left me questioning the accolades. It's disappointing when a restaurant doesn't live up to the expectations set by its reputation.

While Black Turtle has its merits, I wouldn't rush back based on my first visit. Perhaps other menu items offer a more exciting culinary experience, but my encounter with the Bollywood Burger has left me feeling underwhelmed and a bit skeptical of the hype...

The stars are mainly for the waiting staff. The name of the restaurant, the industrial interior with a subtle twist to harbor life, the positive (but dated) reviews and the last available seats in the house made this a promising spot Unfortunately, the hamburgers themselves couldn’t fullfill the promise. The buns were soft and soggy, the meat was dry and the fries/potatoes were already cold and tough like cardboard. We forgot (and hadn’t been asked) for additional sauces, but they couldn’t have saved the day. We saw that the lovely staff was working hardest and a little bit more support would help them to give the place more personality and hospitality. Мені не сподобався досвід візиту до закладу.

Ми прийшли в час відкриття, 17 березня, вдвох. Нас не зустріли у входа. Коли підійшли до бару — показали один столік в проході. Коли запитали чи можна інший, біля вікна чи десь — сказали що ні, хоча резерва не було в все пусто. Не відчув гостиності.

На початку замовлення попросив начоси до бургера, наприкінці замовлення відмовився. Однако начоси все одна принесли. При тому водночас з бургерами, а не окремо по часу. Сік тільки ананасовий, порція в стакан не вміщається а коштує – дасть Бог.

Офіціант не представився, всі співробітники ходять у футболках Turtle Tour, де на спині якісь дати та написи. Спитав у офіціанта шо то таке, він англійкою почав розповідати хто такі черепахи та шо ті дати нічо не значать. Депутамадре. Я поки їм - приходить дівчина питає чи можна вже забирати посуд. Поки я ім. На столі 1 салфетка на людину. 0 вологих.

Попросили бокси для начосів та картопельки — отримали здоровений бумажний пакет, дві коробки, 4 салфетки, 2 вологі. Субьективно - це неєкологічно. Переклав всьо в одну коробочку та ще купа місця залишилась.

Коли я попросив офіціанта та бармена налити мені в термос гарячої води, я готовий був за неї розрахуватись, мені відмовили. Офіціант почав щось доказувати бармену, дякую що намагався, отримав чашку гарячої води. І от стою з літровим термосом і чашкою кипʼятка.

Навіть обідно, я хотів потрати до цього закладу увесь рік як живу в Валенсії. Два бургери, начоси та сок — 50 евро. Авжеж коли ми пішли нам ніхто ні досвіданія ні добрий вечір

Бургери смачні. Музика приемна. Сервіс гімн яний. Дякую...
