Me and my boyfriend both live in Copenhagen and were quite surprised to find the group restaurants here which include restaurants : Copenhagen, Malmö and Oslo. We were quite exited to go and check it out and entered the restaurant around 21:30 on a Sunday evening. Restaurant was quite full but we got a table outside in the front finally. The waitress placed us in a small table in a weird position, as my boyfriend wanted to sit in front of me, he re-placed the chair. The table was covered with a basic A3 white paper for each customer, cutlery was bit too large and and plates IKEA-ish (cheap). I don't know if that is how rest of the world sees Scandinavia, but IKEA is the cheapest most boring student option. When the waitress took our order, I asked her to recommend me a glass of wine for my dish. She said ''whatever you want ''. Then I asked more specifically for a white wine as there were only 2 options what can be ordered as a glass. she showed me the options in the menu and said that one is dry and other is sweeter' . I gave up at that point and tried to figure out the Spanish written wine card myself and picked the one that supposed to be dry. I ordered fresh ravioli and my boyfriend something they called ''copenhagen burger'' . We also got TAPAS - wild mushroom and hazelnut crocets. The tapas arrived quickly- there were 6 pieces and sharing them I already got my belly semi-full. The wine was really nice, ecologic ''D.O Rueda'' (adding pic) for 3 eur per glass and 13,50 per bottle. Boyfriend had a beer, which in a closer look was Spanish beer, looking Scandinavian, made in Germany- it tasted good nevertheless - like a regular craft beer. The wait for food for my boyfriend was around 40 min and he waited for my around 10 min until it seemed stupid to let the food get cold. The ''burger'' was actually layers of different things. Based on a OVER-baked potato, layered with tasteless and colorless tomato, quite large soy pattie, salad and on top a fried egg. On the side there were vegetable chips and some sauce. The taste was really nothing like Copenhagen would ever serve, it all fused up into a one mashed potato taste as everything was too soft and poor taste. Also there are certain rules what can be called a burger, where this was clearly not a burger. Eventually asked when my food will arrive and turned out that the waitress just forgot to sent my order in and tried to find excuses for it. I said I did not want it anymore and asked for the receipt. Waitress apology was not good enough as she tried to excuse herself for the big mistake of not taking my order. Overall disappointing evening, drinks were good, waitress was clearly incompetent...
Read moreJust had a great experience at Copenhagen. Travelling with veggies it was on our radar already, and after passing it on our way elsewhere and glancing at the extremely tempting menu we added it to our hit list. So glad we did! The interior is beautiful and comfortable, service is tactful and helpful (our main waitress was very patient and spoke great english too), and the food was fantastic and excellent value. Our 4 person meal with starters and drinks all round, one tapas sharer, wine and mains was just under 100 euros, which -given the quality of the food and drink- was way more than reasonable. My mixed croquetas starter was decadent and innovative (i had 4 but 2 would have been ample) and my stuffed pasta main was sublime (pecorino and pear with a beautiful red pesto sauce, and parmesan shavings), very satisfying and perfectly balanced. The drinks menu was thoughtful and very reasonably priced, including lots of unusual local craft beer and delicious wine, much if not all of it ecologically grown. If you're looking for somewhere special and stylish to eat where you won't feel short changed by tiny portion sizes, (we all wanted to have room for desert but were completely and blissfuly stuffed), and especially if you or your friends are veggie, you won't be disappointed by Copenhagen. I should add that my vegetarian friends were super impressed by the diversity of the menu and we were all spoilt for choice. Thanks for a...
Read moreI'm visiting Valencia for a little over two weeks and within the first week I've eaten at Restaurant Copenhagen twice. The first time was wonderful and so three days later I was back. Everything on my first visit was exceptional. I had the menu of the day which gets you three tapas type starters. Each was tasty and enjoyable but the mushroom croquet was especially good. I chose a seafood inspired noodle dish as my main dish and it was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Service was fast and efficient and so I made a reservation as I left for a few days later. My second visit left a lot to be desired. Again, I got the menu of the day but only one of the three options was enjoyable and that was the fresh fruit that was added to a small amount of greens that had been drowned in oil. There was so much oil the greens were not enjoyable. A cold soup was edible but I didn't like the flavors and a small piece of toast with an recognizable spread on it, also was edible but not an enjoyable flavor. I chose falafel as my main course and I have never had a more bland and tasteless dish. The texture and presentation were done well but the flavor was completely missing. Did the chef forget to add the seasonings?! There are so many other options for restaurants in Valencia I think I'll keep exploring and maybe one day get back to Restaurante Copenhagen but I...
