Restaurant Arrosseria El Ravatjol - El Palmar — Restaurant in Valencia

I am afraid it has to be one star. The room is just a room, nothing pleasing being there. We ordered 2 small bottles of water (no big bottle in stock, so we had to order one each), 2 cans of coke, a low priced bottle of white wine, a starter portion of universally common fried squid rings (but they refer to that as "calamares a la romana" which is a completely different dish). Then the ... ready for it? .... Paella A La Valenciana... ta-ta.... to find out it consisted of a thin lay of dry rice, too dry, half of it stuck to the metal pan which gave the metal taste to the rice. With the rice there were 2 pieces of rabbit, 2 pieces of chicken and about 10 mid sized snails half of them over burnt and tasting of burnt and too dry. The (too dry) rice tasted mainly of stock cube! Maybe there was saffron because the rice had some colour but rather too dark, rather than the nice yellow saffron I get when I cook paella. The only other ingredients I could see were common green beans and a couple of large white beans. We never intended to be in El Palmar. In the end it was a nice place to be. We ordered the shrimps and paella fish (we thought we would get fish). The paella was delicious and different. We found the structure good and tastes very delicious. There was enough shrimps and calamaris. The Socaratt was minimal, but that didn’t effect the taste.

The sangria had three (3) huge ice cubes. This serves less sangria. Two (2) huge ice cubes would’ve been decent. (Reference: a bar at the beach in Valencia where we got two (2) huge ice cubes)

The only point was that the grilled gambas were delicious and had good taste.

That sound while chewing on it. It was as if there were grains of beach sand on the gambas. This was also in the paella. The food was delicious, yet I will deduct 2 stars for the sandy structure.

It was a cloudy weather and we dat inside. The atmosphere is okay. The staff were good. Could speak English.

Estuve en este restaurante el 25 de mayo y decir que el trato del camarero que nos atendió fue fatal. De primeras reservé para 8 personas en el local interior y cuando llegamos nos habían puesto la mesa afuera en la calle. En segundo lugar el camarero faltó al respecto por ver un artículo que llevamos del Real Madrid y he de decir que se debe respetar las ideologías deportivas así como políticas y este señor que no se si sería dueño o no nos trató mal. Luego nos trataba con mucho desprecio y trato de chulería hacia nosotros y esto no se debería de consentir. Cuando reservé me dijo el listado de las tapas que entra en el menú y luego de segundo plato a elegir y resultó que no era así, era elegir una tapa por persona, si hubiéramos sido dos solo dos tapas y esto es lo que deberían de informar cuando se llama por teléfono para reservar. Ahora voy hablar de la calidad de la comida, los calamares fatal, mucho rebozado y apenas nada de calamar. Las bravas ni ajo aceite tenía y mal presentación, la sepia por ejemplo si estaba buena. Luego la paella, pedimos uno de arroz negro para 4 otra de marisco y un entrecot, el entrecot estaba bien y el arroz negro también pero la paella de marisco muy poca cantidad que de normal eso es para una sola persona y de sabor muy salada y poco marisco. En definitiva, no volveré mientras esté este camarero trabajando que si es dueño entonces ya está todo dicho y no volveré. Además aquí hay más reseñas que lo señalan y este hombre debería mirarselo y si no cambia pues que no se dedique atender de camarero y se meta en la cocina o donde quiera.
