Perfect balance between informal and chic atmosphere. Here at Morrofino we spent a perfect evening, with amazing food and an attentive service. At a first glance, you can catch the attention to details: from the furniture, to the huge and beautiful murales and the mise en place. As said, once seated the waiter warmly introduced us to the morrofino concept, proposing either a tasting menu or a list of delicious dishes to enjoy individually or to share. We opted for the individual dishes and had one of the most interesting kitchen of our trip in the north of Spain. We had: the salmorejo with lettuce and jalapeño granita, cherry tomatoes and burrata, a green gazpacho with raw langoustine (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), then a delicious, mind blowing plums iberica with potatoes and finally a very interesting and tasty dish made of potatoes waffles with kimchi matinees and fumed eel (again, highly recommended). The desserts were also top notch: we had the milhojas with chocolate & salted caramel and orange ice cream served on a yogurt foam with strawberries. The wine suggestion by the waiter (Volatil) was on spot. Price was...
Read moreMy husband & I enjoyed a lovely meal at Morrofino. We were warmly welcomed by Frain, who guided us through the menu & wine list, suggesting one of their tasting menus & a Son de Arrieiro from Ribeiro as the complimentary wine. Our menu started with the Cherry Tomatoes, Salmorejo & lettuce granita (my favorite dish of the menu, which flavors that were bright), next was the Red Prawn in shrimp head broth (again, very flavorful), followed by a Potato Waffle with Smoked Eel & Kimchee. Next course with Cod with runner beans & gratin aioli. The final savory course was an amazing Oxtail Canneloni with foie gras sauce. The postre (desserts) consisted of pineapple and a "not quite a flan". The service was professional, yet engaging. The tempo of the restaurant lent itself to conversation which we always appreciate. We highly recommend Morrofino if you find yourself in Vigo & thank Frain, the Chef & their staff for a...
Read moreVery interesting, very unique and very well flavored dishes. Our experience, the 8 dish "Omakase" was top quality, well tempo'ed and a truly outstanding gastro journey. The two desserts were fantastic! It's an excellent introduction for first timers. The whole thing was fantastic. It showed the chefs' great talents and the casual, but totally on-the-ball, front house staff who were enthusiastic, professional and on top of the service (led by Sr. Fran). House wines are very good and a perfect match for the food. Start with the white, dry, and then the red, a really good wine aged 12 months. All in all, this is really great, unpretentious, restaurant serving Michelin-level quality dishes, many of which are truly memorable. We made a reservation on way out and we are returning in a...
