TEERUM GastroBar — Restaurant in Vila-seca

I have been here before, and the food and service were good. However, last night was a spectacular failure. I went with 2 friends who had been at the spa. Included with the spa deal was dinner or lunch, but the catch was the food had to be from the menu al dia. In Spain, that is normally served between about 1 and 4 and includes an appetizer or primero, a main course, and dessert. We were at Teerum at 8:40 pm. Uh oh. I thought the menu al dia might mean food left over from the afternoon, and I was not wrong.

The grilled artichokes were greasy and probably reheated. The squid on the salad, tough and chewy. Later, the server/camerera asked if we were ready for dessert, but we hadn't even had our main course. We reminded her, and she went to the kitchen where the chef had apparently forgotten us. Later, we reminded her again, and finally the food came out. She was apologetic, at least. One steak was so undercooked it was still cold in the middle, when my friend had asked for medium. She sent it back. No one asked how I wanted my steak, but it came medium-ish and a little on the overdone side.

After quite a while the dessert came out. No one asked if I wanted dessert, but the pear tarte my friend ordered was clearly left over from lunch and did not taste good. I tried it, too, no one ate the rest.

We waited too long for a waiter to at least be in the vicinity, but finally one came to the terrace. We asked for the check. The camerero, who was probably the head waiter, said he would bring it. He didn't. We waited while other customers came and left. Nothing, so I went to the bar and asked. The camerero came to the bar and issued the check with all kinds of unnamed supplementals, typed in the amount on the card reader while I read the check items...and left! I told the bartender that the food was not great and the service less than we might expect. She seemed sympathetic, but that's it. No effort to fix the many problems with the meal, no real acknowledgment of the disaster, and a head waiter who did not want to hear it.

If you are in La Pineda, skip Teerum. There are plenty of other restaurants with better food and...

Una grata sorpresa. Acabamos de rebote porque la opcion donde queriamos comer estaba cerrada y no pudimos salir más contentos. Veniamos de estar alojados en oassium i haber estado la mañana en el spa aquum, asi que un muy buen final del finde. Está en el mismo complejo hotelero, genial para no tener que desplazarse y poder ir a comer nada más salir. En sábado mediodia (octubre,fuera de temporada) estsba suuper tranquilo. Nos atendieron de maravilla, todo el servicio rapido y atento. Em fin de semana hay menu (25 euros primero segundo postre y bebida), pero como.no tenia opciones vegetarianas/veganas optamos por carta Muy buena relcion calidad precio Los platos principales son platazos por 9-10 euros. No los probamos pero las paellas arroces o fideua estaban por unos 14 euros, muy bien teniendo en cuenta precios de la zona. Las tapas genial. Probamos las bravas y muuy buenas y un señor plato por 5 euros. Recomendable el pan con tomate (2euros) Tostado perfecto y lo sirven con tomate cortado para untar o un vasito d tomate ya triturado y otro de ajo-aceite. Muuy bueno. El canelon vegetal estaba genial. Es contundente, no me lo pude ni acaabar. Lastima que estabamos tan llenos que ni postre pedimos jaja habrá q volver otro dia a probar. Comiendo de carta por 20 euros por persona te quedas llenísimo y bien a gusto.

We visited this place to have lunch and at first were very disappointed with food. Mussels and octopus seemed to be few days old. WIth strange smell and taste. We had to call the waiter and return our dishes. Waiters were very attentive and changed our food to "new" which was much better and fresher. I'm confused what rating to give as at first I was very much negatively surprised with the food, but later it was changed...
