We came here for a let lunch on our way back from Teide National Park and it was much better than the exterior suggested.
Initially I wasn't sure about where our guide had taken us because the waiters weren't very friendly at all.
It's normal to enter a bar/café/restaurant in Spain and say 'hola' which we did but each of the waiters I tried to do this to - partly to greet them and partly to get attention and a table - was ignored.
Luckily our guide knew to owner and she was great. She was very friendly and attentive gave us very good service. I remember this even though I was feeling a bit ill at the time.
I wish I had felt better and that we'd gone there at lunchtime instead of 5-6pm for a quick snack - soups and salmorjos are wonderful - as the food I saw others finishing in this lovely wood-panelled restaurant, as well as on their small terrace looked amazing.

Read moreUnfortunately I cannot review the food because there was no space to dine in, and we decided not to wait, because we felt we are not welcomed. Althought we should wait 20-30 minutes for table, even after 20 minutes we couldn’t get at least a water to drink it while standing. But the attitude of the staff is outrageous, I couldn’t even find words. One of the chefs or probably the owner, told me after I explained to him that I am not soo good in Spanish and I ask him to explain in English, replied me the following: “In England you speak english, here in Spain you speak Spanish”. If you don’t want tourists in your local, let them know.. we were looking for authentic locals, but I don’t reccomend this based on the attitude. Probably the food is good, since we went specially there based on these...
Read moreCasa Pana has lots of rooms, it's a bit like UK public houses used to be when the rooms were called snugs. It also has a lovely terrazza garden which has little areas and you are surrounded by lovely plants, including a pomegranate tree, which in late October was laden with ripening pomegranates. So the atmosphere in the restaurant was really good and relaxing. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, which included the head chef. The service was excellent. The quality of the food was excellent and there was a good choice for all tastes, including a table which included children of about 8 and 9 years of age who cleared their plates. If you get to Vilaflor, just go straight to Casa Pana, it will be one of your highlights of...
