A FOOD POISONING TO REMEMBER

Last night my husband and I had dinner at Sa Barra at around 10-11 pm. The food was good, but at 5 am in the morning we both woke up in cold sweat and rushed to the bathroom. Our previous meal had been over 8 hours before Sa Barra, so it could only be their dinner. The poisoning was really bad, we had diarrhea and were throwing up till 10 am in the morning, and even hours later we still can't hold even water! We texted them and asked for a refund, but instead they sent us to their insurance company (which appeared to be a medical center) to get them proof and make a claim. The latter didn't have a slightest idea what we were talking about and sent us to an ER (we actually went there too just to find out that there was a 4 hours waiting list! - not in our condition, thank you).

The place itself is very good, the staff is very nice, friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, the music is awesome (we ate there before). But it's always a shame and a huge disappointment when their attitude changes when there are problems. We thought that restaurants were happy to do a refund and even cover the meds, but not these guys. So eat at...

Seriously? You are calling a complaint from a RETURN CUSTOMER a blackmail? You are just pathetic! We loved the place the first time, we enjoyed the evening and the food yesterday - I think €10 tip speaks for itself. Any decent restaurant would have owned this and made it right by at least a partial refund or any kind of compliment. Nobody says it was intentional, but it happens even to the very best places. And the way the restaurant reacts shows it's true colours. You want to ask more friends to burry the review with their biased comments? Bring it on! I can play this game too, let's see who wins. Yup, he lives it, it’s his place and he cares, you can taste and feel this immediately! Small menu, exactly how I like it, the indoor grill smell teasing your nose and palate making it wonder how it’s gonna taste…

And i shall not be disappointed, rustic but personal and very friendly service explaining the menu (written in Catalan and Spanish)… I ordered across the menu, fresh ingredients prepared behind the bar. Meat, fish, seafood, veggies… all of it fresh and very tasty and served right upon preparation. A little surprise was him using a delicious Kalamata olive oil… didn’t expect that one in proud Iberia, but...
