Horrid experience To start with we enjoyed bread, patatas bravas and my husbands pork was delicious. The house red was very good too. Unfortunately my tuna cheek was dry, tough and I could not chew it, it was returned to the kitchen and they responded with its cooked correctly, my husband tasted it and said he normally loves tuna but wouldn’t be able to eat it. As we’d just arrived in the city after a long journey from Caceres I asked for it to be removed from the bill rather than choose something else. This is when the owner/manager insisted we pay in a very aggressive manner and we once again said it was inedible and it is not fair to pay for something that is impossible to eat. He offered a coffee as compensation but I don’t drink coffee. His response was to call the police, within 10 minutes 5 policeman arrived and we were informed that it is best to pay and then write to food standards, as we were leaving early the next morning we obviously couldn’t do this. See TripAdvisor review dated 3rd May 2018 by BARR 66 whereby the customer had a similar experience and was not charged for his disappointing main. We’ve ate in many places in the world and have never experienced anything so distressing! We met a lovely young Spanish couple in Velvet bakery the next morning who happened to dine in SUKALKI the same evening as us confirmed that tuna should be served pink in order to retain its flavour and tenderness, they were very sympathetic to our situation. Having just seen the owners response I would like to clarify that we asked for the bill and left the full amount in cash + a gratuity but excluding the cost of the tuna that had been returned to the kitchen uneaten. The waitress said we need to also pay for the tuna dish which we declined. The man who purported to be a member of staff joined the conversation and when we would not relent on paying for the Tuna called the police. Read moreWe found Sukalki on Google when arriving in Vitoria-Gasteiz and decided to give it a try with my wife and two kids. The environment was fine, the service was friendly, and at first glance the food looked amazing.
Unfortunately, everything was overwhelmingly salty. It seems they use a special salt in all their dishes and are quite proud of it, but neither the kids nor the adults at our table were able to enjoy the food because of it. The wagyu picanha itself was excellent quality, and after carefully removing the salt we could finally taste and enjoy it — but that was the exception, even the potatoes were salty.
When we mentioned this to the waiter, he admitted he also found the food salty when he first joined, but eventually got used to it. It’s a real shame, because the ingredients and presentation show promise, but the saltiness just overshadowed...
Read moreI have a bittersweet experience. Food was great as I was told and expecting however service was extremely slow. And in my personal opinion prices are a little bit over the average compared to similar restaurants so this is the reason of my 3 stars because I think it is over rated. My choice was a "menu del dia" for 16euros. You can get red or white wine with that deal but I'd you ask for water you will get tap water. I asked for a glass of beer and as it is not included It was a extra charge... I do not find fair. I spent there 1hour and 20 min for being able to have the...
