Visited Bohemians couple of days ago. Looks all very good. Very inviting atmosphere with great views. So far so good. When you make reservation online you can say were you would like to sit. I booked inside but was shown a little outside table on the terrace ( bit squashed in a corner ). Not happy. Were given ( very reluctantly) a nicer table inside. Waiter was very polite but will need some training. Food was very basic for the prices they charge. Bread ( with aioli/tomate)was so hard we had to ask them to change this. Was not asked for when placing order. King prawns starter was disappointing. ( 6 prawns very small) with to much guacamole) Burrata was okay to many tomatoes. Main course. Tournedos Rossini ( was not cooked medium as ordered) more rare to med. rare. Could be served hotter. Gooseliver bit stringy. Vegetables mushroom and green beans) not cooked enough( to hard ) Asked for chips. ( poor quality, too small and greasy )Do not want to see small patatoes on plate as well. Baked sole sole was of good size. Same problem here also with vegetables.( hard and not cooked well) Also could be served hotter. Fish cutlery would also be nice when you eat fish. Dessert. Chocolate fondant was not as described on the menu. Crispy almonds were steamed and rubbery. And where was the caramel center?Disappointing. Vanille icecream with raspberry ( 6 ) is always good but to small and with so much sauce it turns quickly into a soup. After this we decided to have coffee somewhere else. All in all a very disappointing evening. Bohemians looks good and inviting but please sort...

I haven't been to Bohemians for a while - what has gone so horribly wrong? We all had the Menu del Dia. They were all awful. The prawn and avocado salad starter should have been called the 3 prawn salad as that's exactly how many prawns there were. Not just mine either. Others in our party had the same starter and got the same ration of 3. Then the mains - a pasta dish with what looked and tasted like reconstituted meat. The menu makes claims of dishes being 'revisited' - presumably this means they are trying to offer a fresh take on an old classic. Recycled would be a better description as the dishes consisted of poor quality ingredients, served in unattractive and odd combinations. I had the sole, which was small, dry - from being left too long under a hotplate - and served with 6 small fries in an eggcup and a splodge of lukewarm ratatouille dumped on the side of the plate. Tarte tatin for desert - gloopy with a strange chemical taste and a small squirt of cream. Eugghh! The tables are crammed in so close that the waiting staff struggle to get through. Although we spoke to the staff to say how disappointed we were they could only shrug as though they already knew but what could they do? They didn't bother to offer alternatives - presumably the rest of the menu was much the same. So disappointing -this used to be one of our 'go to' restaurants serving consistently good food. We won't be going...
Read moreIf you are looking for a fantastic meal, in great surrounding this is the place. We drove around the area after visiting a very poor market in Calpe. On our arrival at La Boheme a very helpful waitress noticed that we had a dog and that we were wanting to eat. There was a strong possibility of rain so she took us to a table at the rear of the restaurant that although was outside was under cover.
The menu was excellent and the choice was hard but we started with prawn and avocado salad and a salmon tartare with avocado. Off to a great start. The flavors exploded in your mouth and the starters were far better than I expected.
We followed with beef stroganoff. Made from thinly slice sirloin. Could the starter be beat? No but it was equaled. The beef just melted in the mouth. Chef served up a meal that was mind blowing.
Now the food was brilliant as you noticed and the service was brilliant too. The waitresses made you feel welcome and seemed genuinely pleased to give a service.
So the next important bit, was it expensive? No, two excellent starters, two fantastic mains and four glasses of wine €66. Plus they threw in some freebies.
This place deserves a visit and I would like to thank not only the waitresses but chef and the kitchen staff for an extremely...
