Bar Café Olé — Restaurant in Xaló

Cafe Ole, Jalon. First let me stress that this is not a 'name and shame' post. It is simply stating facts from our visit today. First, the positives - We were met by a lovely, friendly waitress who was very polite and helpful, We ordered two large coffees, which were lovely, a bacon sandwich and egg with salmon and avocado. The coffee was good😁 Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food which took 'forever' to arrive. My bacon sandwich consisted of two half slices of not very fresh bread with two, small and very thin rashers of streaky bacon for 4 Euro and my wife had one small egg with a sliver of salmon and and 4 small, thinly sliced pieces of avocado. The bacon sandwich was 4 euro and the egg with avocado was 6,50. Now, maybe I'm being unreasonable but I have had hundreds, if not thousands of bacon sandwiches in my time but this one certainly takes the prize and the worst value ever. I discussed this with the staff but was basically dismissed with " you can talk to the boss if you like. He's sat outside". I'm thinking that, maybe, there has been a recent change of ownership? because I've been before and had really good value food. I will be back to Claudia's for my sarnie next time. I guess it serves me right for being lazy and not walking a bit further up the road to Claudia's or Alleluia. 🤪 Not a mistake I will...

Achtung Abzocke!!! Eigentlich fanden wir die Bar mit den leckeren selbstgemachten Tapas immer gut aber dieses Mal wurde klar, hier geht etwas nicht mit rechten Dingen zu. Als der zu zahlende Betrag deutlich höher ausfiel als zu erwarten war, haben wir eine Rechnung gefordert. Erst im zweiten Anlauf bekamen wir diese dann handgeschrieben (Die Kasse war kaputt...) und dort waren die einzelnen Tapas pro Gericht 50ct erhöht. Innen im Restaurant soll angeblich ein Schild hängen. Dieses wollte uns der Besitzer aber auch nicht wirklich zeigen und man wurde auch immer unfreundlicher... Von außen, in der Karte oder von der Bedienung gab es keinen Hinweis auf erhöhte Preise. Ich denke, dies ist eine Masche und werde den Laden aufgrund dieser unseriösen...

Came here because everywhere else was full and glad we did. Had a coffee and a bacon bap at very reasonable prices. Served by a Spanish speaking English waitress which made for a really enjoyable...
