Coffee only review. Spotted another sign that promised good coffee. On the window it reads, Freshly Roasted Beans. This made my coffee lovers heart beat faster. Here’s my two cents. I am not sure this place is new, but service was a bit off. We waited a long time before somebody came over to take our order. The table setting is off an uncomfortable. There are big round tables that take up a lot of space. We ordered caffe con leche, and flat whites (yes they have flat white on the menu). First impressions, I thought the coffee was not going to be good as it looked very milky. But(!), it really had a great taste. The taste was dark, with a slight hazelnut aftertaste, very pleasant. No acid fruity aftertaste. Prices of the coffee are “high” compared to other places in the area. For a cortado - two cafes further you’d pay € 1,15. Here the flat white was €2,60. Still not regular big city coffee prices but higher than you may expect. It’s true, there was a bit too much milk in the flat white but overall I’d score the coffee a 7 out of 10. We didn’t taste the food or cakes. End score, good neighborhood coffee for the...
Read moreVisited today after hearing a lot of good things about the place. The menu was very vague, I ordered a green smoothie which didn’t have description of what was actually in the smoothies - could’ve asked but personally believe it should be shown on menu. I then ordered ‘strawberry’ pancake, I thought it would be fresh sliced strawberries, nope it was strawberry jam inside if it had advertised it was strawberry jam I wouldn’t have ordered it. Staff member didn’t seem very happy to be there, could’ve been having a bad day which I get. Overall the menu lets it down, would prefer a bit more of description on menu items. Will give it another...
Read moreEvery time I‘m in Xaló (Jalon) I have to get myself a treat at this café. This visit was my fifth and I haven‘t been disappointed yet. The black tea served in real tea cups (🙂) is so far the best I‘ve ever had in Spain. The creamy homemade cheesecake as well as the chocolate cake melt in your mouth. This time I had a delicous tuna sandwich with mayonnaise accompanied by music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (no rap at this place). If you are looking for a café to feel welcome this café of a nice German/Dutch couple is the place to go to in...
